Bacardi Data Privacy Notice

Your privacy is very important to us and Bacardi is dedicated to protecting the confidentiality and privacy of information entrusted to it. Further, Bacardi is committed to the appropriate use of personal information that has been collected. We intend to collect only the personal information that is provided voluntarily by online visitors so that we can offer information about employment opportunities.


This notice explains our online practices and the choices available to you about the way your information is used on our Career Website.

1. YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION (PII)

We will only collect personally identifiable information (PII) provided by you, during the application process.

1.1 Source of Data

We use PII you provide for the purpose of responding to your inquiry or to process an application form which you have completed on our Career Website. We will use that information only for the internal application review process. Once we have collected your PII through our Career Website, we may also use that information to assess your suitability for recruitment opportunities at Bacardi both currently and in the future. We will communicate with you about any such opportunities.


We may also use information for recruitment analysis to identify key trends, metrics and recruitment activity. We automatically collect certain non PII when you visit our Career Website such as the type of browser you are using, the type of operating system you are using, and the domain name of your Internet service provider. We use this information to analyse site usage, which allows us to improve the design and content of our site.

1.3 Why do we collect your personal data and what are our lawful bases for it?

You decide what PII you provide to us. To help in the recruitment process Bacardi collects PII about you from your profile, pre-employment questions, CV or such other information you care to share with us.


By providing PII to us, you are expressly confirming you understand fully and that you willingly consent to the collection and processing of such information. Your consent also includes allowing us to process your personal information by transferring it to, and storing it, if appropriate to any of the offices of Bacardi throughout the world, including the United States, Europe, Latin America and Asia and any third parties who provide recruitment services on our behalf. PII submitted to us by individuals from the European Union may be transferred to other countries (including the United States), where local data protection laws may differ from those of the European Union, and you expressly agree to such transfer.


Where we use cookies or similar technologies we will seek your prior consent where required to do so by law.

1.4 SHaring your information

We do not sell your personal data to any third party. To assist us with our recruitment practices, we may share anonymised analysis with our third party agencies acting on our behalf on such recruitment matters


Data we collect may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work with us or for us, or for one of our affiliated companies, suppliers or service providers

1.5 Recipients of your personal data:

    We may disclose your personal information with our affiliates, who may use your information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. In so doing, they will be data controllers of your information together with us. As data controllers, our affiliates will process your data in compliance with the GDPR and other relevant data protection laws.

    The service provider involved is the one in charge of this recruitment website. We will ensure that our service provider engaged by us is bound to comply with data protection obligations and process your personal data only on documented instructions from us and do not use it for their own purposes.

    We may disclose your personal data as permitted by law in order to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, violation of our intellectual property rights, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violation of our Terms and Conditions or other agreements, or as required by law.


1.6 Transfers outside of the European Economic Area (EEA)

If and when transferring your personal data outside the EEA (which consists of EU member states and Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway), we will only do so using one of the following safeguards:

  • the transfer is to a non-EEA country which has an adequacy decision by the EU Commission;
  • the transfer is covered by a contractual agreement, which covers the GDPR requirements relating to transfers to countries outside the EEA;
  • the transfer is to an organisation which has Binding Corporate Rules approved by an EU data protection authority; or
  • the transfer is to an organisation in the US that is EU-US Privacy Shield certified.

1.7 Your rights

You can withdraw your consent at any time. You are entitled to obtain information from us on how we handle your personal data, to see copies of all personal data held by us and to request that your personal data is amended, corrected or deleted from our systems.

Please note, if you ask us for the deletion of your personal data, we will deactivate your account and purge your information, except for those fields that we are obliged by the law to retain, or that we need for auditing and administration purposes. Access to this minimal information will be heavily restricted and will only be performed for the abovementioned purposes. In maximum 2 years we will delete this residual information.

We do not carry out any decision-making based solely on automated processing, including profiling.

1.8 How long do we keep your PII?

As part of our commitment to your privacy, we will only retain your information for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which we collect it. However, if you agree, we will continue to retain your personal information which we may use to keep you updated on current and future job opportunities. We will retain such data for such purposes for a period of 24 months after which we will contact you to confirm continued retention of your data.
