About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and / or develop 3PL solutions to fit the Supply Chain Strategy.
- Support the contractual elements of any supply chain customer agreements (e.g. backhaul, customer requirements, service plans)
- Investigate industry and customer initiatives
- Work with Planning to develop 3PL Rework capabilities and pricing to meet business needs
- Develop the process through which the 3PL operations plans resources and delivers the customer service plan throughout the year with inputs from the wider Supply Chain Team.
- Work with Planning to agree relevant data formats for on-going operation and budget setting
- Facilitate planning discussions at contractor reviews
- Develop the customer service plan with the Logistics and Customer Service Manager
- Responsible for the management of 3PL development plans to drive improvement and compliance in our outsourced warehouse, transport and POS operations.
- Drive the overall performance of our 3PLs using all reported information and KPIs at weekly and monthly review meetings looking at trends and broad structural issues affecting performance using all reported information and KPIs
- Provide key support for the management of customer cost to serve vs. service
- Provide key support for weekly peak meetings to ensure department wide alignment to the customer service plan
- Manage change requests and all contract updates, revisions and rewrites with internal procurement and legal departments
- Manage and control all HMRC related requirements and ensure compliance and due diligence procedures are effective to meet regulatory and business standards.
- Be UK customs expert and work with HMRC and 3PLs to ensure all HMRC requirements are met for the bonded warehouse and transportation of goods – develop knowledge, process and expertise elsewhere in the department
- Run an audit schedule to ensure general compliance, sign off 3PL related SOX checks and coordinate all annual stock checks
- Manage Track ‘n’ Trace process from Bacardi global through Warehouse identification and feedback to Database.
- Fully support the business improvement in queries resulting in credits through collaboration with customer services, credit control, finance and contractors
- Run contractor activities related to reducing credits
- Support the regular internal credit meetings with information
- Drive performance improvement
- Ensure 3PL claims process is effective in recovering claim costs as per contracts
- Implement IOD (information on delivery) strategy with hauliers and manage rigorously with approach to claims
- Develop and manage tactical relationships with Sales and Marketing in order to deliver the long term POS service plan.
- Build understanding of the trade and POS service requirements
- Hold regular meetings to integrate POS handling into the commercial way of life
- Ensure supply chain adds value to the development of POS within the business
- Input and influence to the annual budget setting process and ensure compliance to agreed invoicing process. Ensure relevant and accurate budgeting for all 3PL spend as well as identifying cost improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with other members of the supply chain, marketing, sales, finance, credit control and demand planning teams to achieve the Supply Chain strategy.
- Monitor and develop the 3PL Reporting process to ensure continuous improvement on the KPIs related to general service and resolution/prevention of customer queries.
- Set stretch targets for 3PL providers linked to the Supply Chain Strategy
- Drive towards real time reporting on 3PL KPI’s
- Ensure contractor related credits and claims are all signed off in appropriate timelines
- Develop own and L&CS team trade and industry knowledge
Skills and Experience
- Mastery of supply chain process, issues and industry practice within an integrated planning environment
- Good understanding of Planning processes and their impact on customer supply
- Mastery of analytical and reasoning abilities
- Excellent general IT literacy
- High learning agility, adaptability, and track record of delivering results
- Ability to present and structure technical data in a clear and logical format
