About the role

Your Opportunity

This exciting role is focused on creating, and hosting, immersive whisky brand experiences onsite, and virtually, at the Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery.

Key to this role is ensuring a seamless service, and quality of care, for internally  originated VIP guests as befits our brand, as well as engaged consumers.

This role encompasses all aspects of our advocacy programs, from coordinating the organisation of visits, to activating on the ground by  supporting and hosting our VIP guests through engaging and educational activities on site. In addition to supporting with virtual advocacy activities and events.

You will work well under pressure and, working alongside the onsite Brand Ambassador, you will work well both as part of a small team and individually. You will have strong presenting and educating skills, being sympathetic to all levels of prior knowledge, ensuring that our brands are conveyed to our guests in a way that reflects the brands messaging and values. 


With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:
  • Responsible for assisting with the organisation of VIP visits to the Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery, and assisting with/hosting these visits on site, as well as the set up/clear down from sessions, and additionally, assisting with any virtual experiences.
  • Hosting Influencer and VIP groups from around the world – primarily at Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery, but occasionally at our other distilleries – in a safe and responsible manner, in line with company and site EHS policies – in addition to aiding with the set-up, pack-up and storage of all materials at the end of the classes.
  • Work with the DAD Brand Ambassador to ensure a coordinated and strategic approach to advocacy, as directed by the Brand Teams and Brand Homes Management team.
  • Manage, with the assistance of the DAD Brand Ambassador, the internal visits diary as well as liaising with key vendors (hotels, caterers, transport companies), market leads and stakeholders to ensure visits are fully organised and well executed
  • Assist with financial aspects of the advocacy offering – creating cost effective market budgets for visits and updating budget trackers for the DAD advocacy & T&E budget.
  • Engage with local businesses and vendors to maximize our local presence, of both our brand and brand home, and develop strong relationships within the community, to ensure that our brands are ‘winning locally’.
  • Support continual development within the Brand Home at Aberfeldy, through special interest tours, virtual experiences, and development of the bar area within DAD, and support the wider Brand Homes ‘Family’ both operationally and to help achieve budget.
  • Support with any one-off brand events requested by either of the brand teams and any other reasonable duty requested by the DAD Brand Ambassador, VC Operations Manager or UK Brand Homes Manager. 

Skills and Experience

The Skills & Experience needed to create your legacy
  • As the hosting of VIP groups and invited guests, both in personal and virtually, forms part of this role, previous experience within the drinks industry, specifically within the whisky category, would be desirable.
  • Previous experience of organising and running events would be beneficial to applicants.
  • A high level of time management and organisational skills would be essential for this role, both for the hosting and organising of visits. In addition to being adaptable to late changes that may be required.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritise workflow is a keen requirement, for managing multiple tasks/visits concurrently.
  • A collaborative approach and ability to work closely with multiple stakeholders across different markets and areas of business, while ensuring a quality of service that befits our brand.
  • Working as part of a small team, teamworking and communicational skills would be important to ensure the smooth running and accuracy of our programs and events
  • A strong understanding of driving a safety culture, delivering quality experiences to all our guests, both on and offsite, in a safe and considered manner
  • Applicants should hold a full UK driving licence, as hosting will also take place in the areas around Aberfeldy as well as occasionally at our other malt distilleries throughout Scotland.
