About the role


The Associate Financial Analyst is responsible for the correct presentation for the Plant Financial results while maintaining compliance with Corporate Financial Policies, and regulatory statutes in addition to maintaining a tight internal control environment. The Associate Financial Analyst is responsible for appraising operations financial performance, key projects/initiatives and managing the budgeting and forecasting process of Plant Operations.


The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform independently, be self-motivated, flexible to move from one project to another, prioritize and allocate task to take care of the most pressing matters first, and be able to delegate assignments to others when needed. The incumbent is to assist the Financial Controller in providing insightful analysis and focused business decision support to influence operations and drive enhanced business performance.


  • Responsible for analyzing monthly results, performing root cause analysis, identifying, and communicating main drivers, challenges and opportunities and key financial / business insights to drive and influence the team’s decision-making to ensure targets are met.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly performance review for external manufacturing and present to top-management.
  • Supervise budget, 3-year plan development, financial reporting and systems management, while driving business processes to improve efficiency and meet organization goals. 
  • Work closely with all functional areas including commercial team to support revenue growth via the innovation process and improve efficiencies and/or ways of working via key projects that should translate in financial benefit for the operations.  
  • Ensure financial management reporting and processes are in place to improve data accuracy / transparency and on time deliverables and support the ongoing needs of the operations including the preparation of dashboards, establishment of KPIs and presentations to top-management.  Leverage the Bacardi Enterprise Services (BES) and its Center of Excellence (COE) team located in Costa Rica for management reporting and analysis.
  • Continuously seeks to streamline department’s processes and looks for ways of improving efficiencies; eliminate non-value-added work. 
  • Ensure adequate internal controls, policies and procedures are maintained to certify accounting practices are in line with US GAAP, comply with government reporting, safeguard inventory and equipment, provide accurate financial records and achieve standards consistent with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
  • Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function. 
  • Lead and coordinate Zero Based Budget approach to ensure best in class costs and cost management
  • Build and foster sold business partnership with finance community in the Region and Hubs, Audit, BU leaders and relevant internal and external customers in order to understand business requirements and maximize effective decision support
  • Represents financial interests and concerns on special assignments. Monitors project progress and results to determine procedures needed to meet ultimate objective. 
  • Responsible for the bi-monthly preparation of excise tax returns; liaise with Treasury Department to ensure funds are available for payment.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is gathered to prepare the excise tax returns on time with 100% accuracy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience

  • Familiar with all applicable customs laws, regulations, procedures, and industry practices.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, analytical skills
  • Strong problem solving skills, ability to accurately reconcile and balance numerical data
  • Proficient in Excel; ability to effectively utilize computerized spreadsheets to conduct analyses
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong commitment to team concept
  • Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in Finance and/or Accounting (CPA is a plus)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of manufacturing/production environment
