About the role

As Associate Manager, IT Operations, Data and Innovation, you work on master data solutions within various functions in the Bacardi organization and covering many business areas such as Commercial, Global Operations and Sales & Marketing. In this role you are part of the Global Master Data organization which supports all of Bacardi on data related matters.

At Bacardi, we are currently on a journey to implement new data governance processes and solutions which includes designing and implementing governance flows through the SAP MDG tool. In this role you will be responsible for providing Subject Matter Expertise as it relates to Data Governance, Data Quality and Master Data Management. You will play a key role in implementing and executing enterprise data governance and the associated data quality framework. This position will predominantly work on SAP master data collaborating with other process areas such as record-to-report, order-to-cash and procure-to-pay teams and systems with primary focus on finance related matters. In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of operations in the area of Material Master and Logistics master data.

This role requires strong knowledge of Master Data business processes within the material and logistics area and ideally current technology and IT capabilities (SAP ERP and Master Data Management Tools being preferred). Expertise in multiple business areas will be of a benefit as the core data objects often spans across the enterprise. The role furthermore requires someone with the following skills:

  • Experience in managing a user help desk / data operations service.
  • Ability to drive data governance workshops and discussions and effectively engage with individuals at all levels within the organization is a must.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Efficient at working independently and across the matrix to analyze and solve complex problems involving data quality issues, system response time, business rules conflicts.
  • Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot and provide master data strategies and solutions.
  • Ideally have technical knowledge and understanding of master and reference data elements, processes and organizational support models.

The role reports to the Director, IT Services, Data and Innovation.


Responsibilities

Master Data Requirements

  • Deliver master data services within the Enterprise.
  •  Own the material master as an object from a master data governance perspective.
  • Facilitate and drive meetings with the business, vendors and other IT teams to define and document data governance solutions.
  • Assess and analyze the current master data create/change/delete processes and develop processes and solutions working with key stakeholders to improve process efficiencies and thus improving the satisfaction of external and internal customers.
  • Design and implement solutions that improve efficiency and lower business risks by ensuring the highest quality data is delivered, managed and maintained via enterprise-wide master data governance strategy.
  • Take ownership and lead initiatives to design and implement solutions to meet master data requirements across the enterprise.
  • Provide expertise for data related solutions.
  • Guides continuous improvement efforts for the solution, develop business cases, understand your users.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will have/be:
  • Deep Master Data Knowledge / Subject Matter Expertise - Understand the business processes and solutions for:
  • Master Data Management Processes
  • Master Data Management Tools (SAP MDM or MDG is a plus)
  • Elements of SAP Master Data (data models, data definitions, tables and fields etc)
  • Data Governance
  • Data Quality
  • Data Migration
  • Deep knowledge of your solution technology
  • Experience in creating, modifying specifications and configurations to meet specified requirements
  • Experience developing and executing integrated test plans
  • Experience communicating technical solutions to the business

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or any related field
  • Fluent in another language
