About the role

YOUR OPPORTUNITY

Business Development Manager is responsible for increasing visitors, profit, and market share for Casa BACARDÍ Puerto Rico. This role encompasses all areas of business development, with a focus on groups, partnerships and events business. This is a key role in creating strategies and results for the future of Casa BACARDÍ as it upgrades and grows. 

Responsibilities

WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART YOUR KEY FOCUS WILL BE:

  • Develop & implement business development strategies targeting both leisure and business customers under the direction of the General Manager and support of the Marketing Manager, supporting the consumer, groups and events strategies for the Brand Home.
  • Create strong partnerships with the Tourism industry, locally and internationally, with a focus on accommodation providers, airlines, cruise lines, destination management companies and tour operators. 
  • Attend external sales events such as trade fairs and offsite events and conduct client meetings.
  • Manage relationships and drive proactive sales with group travel operators, DMCs, tourism and accommodation providers and own B2B relationships.
  • Drive sales leads for events, working closely with the Events team to maximize commercial opportunity and deliver revenue.
  • Promote CBPR to achieve the yearly agreed budget by attracting individuals, the groups market, and the events market. 
  • Working in collaboration with the Marketing Manager, ensure a holistic and aligned approach to the overall Sales & Marketing plans, keeping in close touch with the Marketing function
  • Leverage commercial opportunities to deliver revenue, including bar and retail, as well as e-commerce.                                
  • Strategically drive business and revenue through digital communication with the Marketing Manager e.g. website, and third-party online presence, social networks, TripAdvisor, PPC, SEO.
  • Work in collaboration with Commercial Bacardi PR Team on trade sales to develop partnerships. 
  • Collaborate with Bacardi Corporation’s Global Travel Retail Division to ensure coordination on opportunities, pricing and maximize cross promotion while maintaining excellent relationships with the team.
  • Review, evaluate, and maintain accurate sales reports.
  • Analyze all inquiries, proposals, and opportunities before approval with General Manager.
  • Oversee development of new accounts and keeps up to date data of existing partnerships.
  • Create and maintains contracts/agreements for Casa BACARDÍ rates with key operators.
  • Assist General Manager in establishing market pricing strategies to increase individual and group attendance. 
  • Develop and maintain budget for advertising, marketing collateral and promotional goods.  
  • Create and manage promotional opportunities with all complementary businesses in collaboration with Marketing Manager.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Manager to create a quarterly newsletter for industry partners that shares updates and offers. 
  • Leverage international partnerships to create opportunities to promote other Bacardi Brand Homes. 
  • Establish “loyalty” program for tour operators and transportation providers that tracks, recognizes and rewards partners that drive traffic to Casa BACARDÍ. 
  • Stay up to date on the developments of the tourism industry in PR so that Casa BACARDÍ can be at the forefront of new opportunities – new territories, languages, demographic segments.  
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Skills and Experience

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration
Master’s degree in Business Administration/Hospitality Preferred

Experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year in Sales in Spirits/Beverage Industry or Hospitality
  • 1-2 Years in Project Management
  • 3-5 Years in Business Development

Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English & Spanish
  • Effective use of the Internet, Email, MS (Word, Excel, PP)
  • Ability to write reports in English & Spanish
  • Delivery-focused mindset, able to execute efficiently, on time and to budget
