About the role

Your Opportunity

The purpose of the Commercial Analytics team is to act as the commercial lead for planning, reporting, performance and ongoing business routines, as well as stewardship of central analytics and insight generation.In this role, the Commercial Analyst, Prairies’ key priority is to drive value added analytics and insights to support the Commercial team for AB, SK and MB who are charged with driving commercial success within the province.  Pivotal to your accountability will be to execute and communicate standardized approaches to analytics, customer engagement insights and performance review to be used in our selling story.


With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:
  • Work closely with the team: Key Account Managers, Customer Marketing, and the Distributor Partner to support customer needs/insights and performance measurement.
  • Development of standardized commercial reporting and performance communications; visibility and connectivity to Bacardi financial reporting processes, particularly leveraging the Power BI platform 
  • Integrate Shopper, Consumer and Commercial Insights into opportunities and sales presentations
  • Help drive ROI analysis of commercial programs. as well as work on post-mortem evaluation and performance tracking and analysis
  • Aid in the Revenue Growth Management agenda by reviewing and suggesting areas of opportunity when it comes to maximizing revenue delivery
  • Understanding, evaluating and driving sales success through proven category management expertise
  • Development of standardized conventional tools in order to analyze our business in the province
  • Development of market (external) analytics, promotional analysis, and forecasting/planning analysis
  • Regional analysis and insight generation from key content (Customer Data, iRI, ACD, Numerator, Shopper Insights Data) to feed into Commercial selling stories, Customer Marketing, Regional Sales etc.
  • Collaborate with Customer Marketing, Consumer Marketing, and Finance colleagues to manage in-year gap planning and one-off initiatives

  • Experience building analytical stories and having database management skills to develop and implement databases, reports and analytics. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills in order to effectively interact with various functions across the organization
  • Embody a professional agitator mentality, challenging the status quo to improve the business
  • Ability to clearly develop & articulate business requirements and translate into functional specifications (and vice versa)
  • Be able to multi-task with excellent time management skills and willing to work in a challenging and fast paced environment. 
  • Must possess professional maturity and be comfortable with interacting with higher levels of management (both internally and externally with customers) to communicate facts in a simple and understandable manner including presenting their opinions and ideas. 
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced, continuously changing and often ambiguous environment 
  • Experience or exposure to Sales, Key Account Management, Revenue Growth Management, Insights and Marketing functions 
The following experiences are preferred:
  • Exposure to and/or prior experience engaging with commercial/field sales organizations
  • Experience with planning/reporting/forecasting processes and tools
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access
  • Exposure to Microsoft Power BI preferred
  • Analytics and/or Strategy background preferred
  • Exposure/experience to advanced statistical modelling methods and approaches
  • Prior experience in the Spirits, CPG, or broader beverage alcohol industry is a bonus
  • Prior experience in strategy , pricing, revenue growth management
  • Exposure to IRI data is preferred
  • Post-Secondary degree in Business, Economics or related field with exposure to analysis, business acumen, marketing is preferred
