About the role

To support the commercial team in delivering and administering key commercial processes that will help drive our objectives and ensure better and more effective execution at the front line.

In conjunction with working closely with the Sales Operations Head & Manager on processes to improve our selling tools, the role has a strong bias towards ensuring that our back-office processes are also working efficiently to soundly underpin the efficiency of our commercial operations.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Lead the Sales Variable Pay (SVP) process & communicate with all stakeholders.
  • Assist the setting of Sales Targets.
  • Assist the production of Sales Dashboards.
  • Be an active member of the Cash Project team to drive working capital improvement.
  • Lead & own the (annual) price increase process & coordinate all stakeholders.
  • Lead & own the (annual) duty increase process & coordinate all stakeholders.
  • Sit on the Anaplan Steering Group to ensure issues are resolved & improvements are implemented.
  • Manage the team & processes to ensure that rebate invoices are tracked & coded on a timely basis so overdues are within target.
  • Coordinate the rebate review process to ensure rebates are closed down & funds are released on a timely basis.
  • Continually review and provide input to simplify rebate processes and system improvement ideas with a view to driving greater efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Be a superuser on SAP & Anaplan & be involved in continuous improvement projects & initiatives.
  • Ensure process and training documentation are updated and shared as appropriate.
  • Attend Sales meetings to update on status & issues.
  • Ad hoc project work.

Measures of success

The measure of success in this role with be based upon achieving:
  • Efficiencies & improvements in sales systems freeing up time for front line sales teams.
  • Sales teams are full engaged & have all the tools & support to help them measure & maximise sales.
  • Sales Variable Pay (SVP) is right first time for every quarter.  The process becomes more efficient & less resource hungry.  Queries are reduced to a minimum & resolved quickly.
  • Anaplan works correctly as a true business planning tool.
  • Rebates are controlled & overdues are within target.
  • Reduction in total processing time of rebate invoices.
  • Accurate coding to improve P&L detail.
  • Timely rebate releases.
  • Improvement in efficiency of rebate systems & processes.
  • Improved engagement of & communication to sales teams on Anaplan & rebate systems.
  • Working capital is controlled.

To be successful within the role you will have/ be:

  • A strong understanding of Financial systems & their impact on the Commercial P&L & KPIs together with a practical appreciation of how they can best be deployed by Commercial teams as an enabler.
