About the role

What does a Continuous Improvement & External Manufacturing Planner do?

This position is responsible for identifying opportunities to simplify processes, reduce waste, avoid write offs and increase product availability.

The role will also have responsibility for planning and scheduling the production of finished products with External Manufacturers, ensuring all raw and packaging materials are available to meet inventory and customer service targets. 

About You

This role requires an individual with high levels of business acumen and the ability to build a strong network of contacts internally & with our suppliers.

This role is pivotal to the long-term success of the External Manufacturing function and requires a mastery of communication, coordination and attention to detail, with a strong background in Supply Chain.


With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:
  • Defines and implements process and system improvements to help improve material availability, working capital, write off and OFR 
  • Owning improvement activities and ensuring timely delivery by using project management and lean methodologies
  • Developing and improving supply chain strategies that enable optimization of inventory, write offs, material coverage, business cases and costs for External Manufacturing
  • Defining and driving SAP systems and tools in collaboration with IT, Analytics, and external partners
  • Process expert for Master Data elements related to external manufacturing planning 
  • Driving global alignment and standardization of planning and supply processes for External manufacturing
  • Define production plan to meet Market requirements 
  • Work in partnership with the team to issue or receive materials at external manufacturing warehouse in alignment with SOX compliance  
  • Ensure accurate and timely inventory reconciliation between Bacardi SAP system and External Manufacturing warehouse 
  • Assists in the analysis of inventory reports and surplus stock lists to determine need for production requirements; directs the initiation of corrective measures to restore satisfactory inventory balance
  • Track, communicate and create action plans around KPIs: OFR, Schedule Attainment, Schedule Mix Attainment,  Availability, etc.
  • Responsible for adequate finished product inventory levels that meet inventory level demands.
  • Manage Materials Purchase Orders with Suppliers
  • Address any supply disruption or conflict situation through consensus solution or recommendation for escalation. Ensure agreed modifications are implemented.
  • Responsible for Bulk Rum, NGS, Ingredients and Flavor Keys Supply planning and inventory management.
  • In collaboration with the BUSA Planning team, regularly assess and update Markets and Plants safety stock policy and targets  
  • Analyze and consolidate orders to maximize cost benefits of Global Procurement Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) structure and freight cost
  • Maintain good communication with suppliers and other departments regarding industrial materials purchases, costs, quality and any new developments
  • Assist with ISO compliance, GMP standards and Internal / External Audits

  • Good organizational skills, problem solving, critical thinking, detail oriented.
  • Ability to use computer hardware and software, ability to utilize office machinery
  • Strong Knowledge of SAP, active user of SAP ECC, SAP APO-SNP.
  • Multi-tasking skills and strong time management.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
Personal Qualities
  • Minimum education: BA/BS required
  • Minimum experience: 5+ years of Supply Chain experience
  • Language: fluent in English
