About the role

Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing processes to increase operational performance. The incumbent develops, participates in design, validates and implements all those local and global strategies that serve as a guide to improve quality, productivity and efficiency and thus contribute effectively to the reach our business goals through the Bacardi Operating System (BOS), Continuous Improvement Projects and the effective implementation of a Lean Manufacturing Culture. In addition, this person provides technical knowledge, and support using the continuous improvement methodologies including but not limited to Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, among others.  The incumbent shall be capable to manage difficult manufacturing process problems through problem solving methodologies and/or new technology developments. The role requires experience in manufacturing operations, including but not limited to lean manufacturing, process excellence, financial acumen, production forecast, safety culture, among others.

Responsibilities

  • Owner of the Bacardi Operating System (BOS) pillars for the site and work closely with the Site Leader for implementation strategies and adherence through the time. 
  • Lead the implementation and adherence of the continuous improvement initiatives, including but not limited to: OGSM, DDS (Tiers), Kaizens, Gemba, 5S, problem solving, SDTs,  among others. 
  • Identify, develop, implement, and evaluate processes, projects, and programs (local and global) related to the operations and resources development included on the BOS and Lean Curriculum. 
  • Define the operational manufacturing needs and support business initiatives aimed to increase organizational performance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. 
  • Measure development programs to ensure that we are meeting the company's standards. 
  • Establish processes to measure and communicate the performance indicators (KPI’s) of the organization to ensure process efficiency. 
  • Report BOS progress in applicable forums together with the site lead. 
  • Lead the student program for the site.
  • Lead continuous improvement programs including but not limited to: Student Program, eBOS, Manufacturing 4.0, Benchmark, among others. 
  • Together with HR, lead technical and professional development of Bacardi primos.  
  • Support and coach facilitators and employees in all processes of continuous improvement to meet and or exceed consumer requirements. 
  • Responsible for the measurement and audit processes of each Pillar of the Bacardi Operating System (BOS). Help to define and show achievable plan for each BOS pillars 
  • Overseeing the direction of the project, ensuring that the client's specifications and requirements are met, reviewing progress, and monitor costs. 
  • Drive rigorous metrics related to the KPI to evaluate performance and drive reduction in variability/defects in critical business processes. 
  • Build relationships with other resources to support, identify, review, prioritizes and execute of key improvements opportunities/projects to drive results. 
  • Ensure the talent capabilities with a solid training plan based on local and global business needs. 
  • Complies with and supports SQS to ensure compliance with the Environmental, Health and Safety Management System. 
  • Complies with Financial Processes including but not limited to budget processes, audits, etc. 

Skills and Experience

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s Degree Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical or Chemistry)
  • Master’s Degree Industrial Engineering or Business Administration preferred.
EXPERIENCE
  • 3-5 years Project Management
  • 5+ years Lean Manufacturing and Process Excellence
  • 5+ years Knowledge in Manufacturing Operations
  • 1-3 years Training and Development preferred.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
  • Green Belt Certification
  • Analytics and Statistical Software (Minitab, BI)
  • Black Belt Certification preferred.
SKILLS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Familiarity in electronic systems for business/digital technology (Word, Excel, PP).
  • Effective use of the Internet and Email.
