About the role
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all Import and Export transactions for Bacardi North America.
- Ensures Bacardi compliance with U.S. and international import and export regulatory requirements, maintaining required records according to regulatory requirements.
- Oversees 300+ entries per month with the support of one import coordinator, one export coordinator and two administers.
- Responsible for the administration of the Foreign Trade Zone.
- Resident expert in Federal Excise Tax administration and Craft Beverage Modernization Act (CBMA).
- Administer and develop relationships with customs brokers, including research and response to broker inquiries while ensuring timely clearance of shipments.
- Work with Bacardi’s Freight Forwarder to ensure timely release of shipments.
- Audit and process customs broker and freight forwarder invoices.
- Ensure the timely execution of import requirements and drawbacks as required.
- Ensure EditTrade is loaded with the appropriate Harmonized Tariff Schedule, ECCN and Country of Origin for all products.
- Create and maintain documented procedures in support of Bacardi’s import and export processes.
- Support and train internal customers on importing and exporting requirements.
- Company representative for Customs and Border Patrol and manages the Customs Officer on-site audits.
Skills and Experience
- Familiar with all applicable customs laws, regulations, procedures, and industry practices.
- Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, SAP and EditTrade.
- Ability to create and manage processes and team management.
- Working knowledge of Editrade and its corresponding functions.
- Working knowledge of various Custom Forms (CF214, CF215, CF216, CF7512, CF3461, CF7501, CF349)
- 100% Responsibility mindset.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- 5 years Broker experience or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
