About the role

Your Opportunity

To facilitate regulatory compliance, build and manage our privacy program, develop privacy policies for internal, and privacy statements for external use supporting internal functions and business partners globally. Knowing how to persuade and enable the business, while maintaining integrity, you will closely collaborate with stakeholders to control risk from potential procedural or technology changes that affect privacy. Identifying and suggesting prioritization of privacy risk treatment for the organization, you will determine how to maintain and improve adherence to regulatory requirements and corporate policies whilst crafting training and awareness programs and set up a data breach response plan.

This role will ideally be based in London (with flexible/remote working), however we will also consider a base in Amsterdam at our European Regional office. 


With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:
  • Maintain, develop, implement and monitor Bacardi’s privacy program and the resulting privacy policies, procedures and documentation for the processing of personal data in coordination with appropriate members of the organization (e.g. business process owners, legal, information security, compliance, internal audit)
  • Work to ensure the organization maintains the appropriate privacy and confidentiality consent procedures, authorization forms, and information notices.
  • Work with procurement, vendor management and the legal department to ensure that third-party suppliers' contracts and operating-level agreements meet national & international privacy requirements.
  • Notify data protection authorities of the organization's processing activities and/or obtain guidance where required.
  • Lead the enterprise's response to privacy-related emergencies and other potentially damaging events.
  • Communicate with regulatory authorities and the public concerning privacy issues (for example, answering data subject’s questions and requests).
  • Conduct or oversee privacy awareness campaigns, training and orientation for all employees 
  • Identify trends in privacy and regulatory requirements and compliance enforcement, and account for the necessary changes in the privacy program. Develop new and innovative strategies to address privacy and regulatory standards and requirements in new technologies (IT – Consumer marketing – commercial – HR)

Skills and Experience

The Skills & Experience needed to create your legacy
  • Around 5-10 years of experience in privacy, data protection, security, risk management, auditing and/or compliance as well as previous legal experience as legal counsel for a multinational corporation or heavily regulated environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills. Sound business judgment, with the ability to think strategically and give practical advice by balancing business needs with legal risks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work well with a diverse base. Comfort with promoting privacy up and down the management chain, including audiences who have varying levels of familiarity with the topic
  • Willingness to travel to determine and influence privacy requirements in jurisdictions the organization is operating in.
  • Willingness to be available for incident and emergency handling outside standard office hours, where necessary.
