About the role


Demand Owner in their Category area the Demand Category Lead will be fully immersed in Brand & Market Strategies. Partnering very closely and collaboratively with Brand Teams & Regions/Markets they will strongly influence and guide to ensure the demand signal aligns with these strategies. The Demand Category Lead will drive local/regional S&OP meetings and participate fully as well as be an important contributor at BTMs; Creating Daily, Weekly, Monthly reports and analysis to provide insights and drive actions, the Demand Category Lead will p rovide visibility, clear messaging & drive action across the Bacardi extended Supply Chain (Global & Local) and ensure Supply meets Demand On Time at the best cost/quality for a defined scope of responsibility. Working closely with the Demand Category Manager the role involves leading & supporting cross functional projects with a large number of functions (Manufacturing, Procurement, Marketing, Sales, Packaging Development, Logistics, Global IT, Finance, Project Management)

This is primarily a technical role but strong relationships and an end to end business understanding is key to success. The role will give the successful candidate wide ranging supply chain exposure and will place them in an ideal position to take advantage of the career opportunities available in Bacardi. The role is based in the UK operation centre, located in Glasgow. The operations centre (OC) is one of five globally and manages all operational and supply activity for their brands. The OC in Glasgow is responsible for managing the Bacardi portfolio of Whisky and Gin brands. A high degree of flexibility is required in this role as a large part of it is responding to the situation on hand and providing insightful analyses as needed. 


  • Own Demand for the Category
  • Partner with our Brand Teams & Customers working collaboratively to ensure successful delivery of Brand & Market Strategies
  • Lead & Influence internal stakeholders to deliver service performance that will support successful delivery of these Strategies
  • Drive the Demand Planning & S&OP Processes for the Category lead and proactively drive forecast accuracy upwards across the category to ensure operational stability and customer delivery success 

Sales & Operations Planning
  • Secure Supply and provide visibility through the supply chain
  • Lead and improve S&OP process for plants under Demand Category Manager responsibility together with markets and global functions stakeholders.
  • Ensure Global S&OP process is moving to the next step with Integrated Business Planning (IBP) ensuring a bottom up and then a top down alignment.
  • Provide analysis on demand patterns and future requirements to facilitate OC resource planning
  • Support Global yearly Long Term Demand Planning process for core spirit categories under responsibility.

Define, control and reduce end to end Inventory & Innovations Management
  • Drive a quarterly review of key in markets stocks for the OC brands, with particular focus on projected stock levels within the financial year.
  • Support level 2 or 3 projects for the brand supply Chain function. & secure any Innovation new Demand is captured in advance through the S&OP process.
  • Product Lifecycle management and SKU rationalization / clusterization
Processes & Systems alignment and enhancement

Lead Supply Chain improvement programs
  • Support Demand Driven Replenishment Program deployment and solution improvement for Plants in charge. Become the OC expert in this area and assist the brand supply chain manager in developing suitability criterion and measurement for market involvement in DDR.

Ensure Systems accuracy and development
  • Responsible to maintain Supply Network Planning (SNP) within the global planning system (APO) in order to provide visibility
  • of the full Bacardi business through the supply chain.
  • Develop Business Intelligence (BI) reporting to meet the requirements of the team.

Product allocation management
  • Work in unison with Brand team and Regions/Markets to fully deliver the Brand strategy
  • Keep full governance of the end to end allocation processes
  • Weekly and Monthly report status of actual demand vs allocation to be shared with CS, Regions and Brand Team driving actions
  • Drive communication internally and externally

Skills and Experience


  • Experienced in End to End Demand Planning & SOP is critical, experience in a Global environment would be beneficial
  • Natural Leadership with ownership & drive in built
  • Excellent, proactive communicator; strong speaker and comfortable delivering key messages to stakeholders of all levels

  • Understands “who needs to know” and proactively communicates important messages, clearly & concisely to provide the business with insights allowing the right decisions and actions to be taken

  • Quick to identify trends, interpret data and can easily draw conclusions from the reported data; Capable of drawing out meaningful, actionable insights to share & influence stakeholders that will help drive business decisions
  • Sound operational, commercial and financial awareness and understands the meaning and implications of the data results for the business
  • Excellent communicator at all levels, capable of delivering concise, clear messaging that will influence and drive action through the business
  • Technically sound, strong on analytics; Expert Microsoft Excel, SAP ECC/APO OR ANY OTHER Planning & ERP system; Power BI is a plus
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to multi task and handle multiple priorities in a challenging, fast paced environment
  • Energetic, self starter with leadership qualities who works well under limited direction with high degree of initiative and drive.
  • Ability to work independently with high degree of initiative and drive
  • Expert Microsoft Excel & excellent presentation skills
  • Experience in a production, logistics or supply chain environment within FMCG Company required
  • Experience in Innovation, continuous improvement and project management a plus
  • Educational Requirement: Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Management
