About the role

The Director for Special Projects will project manage and implement various company-wide initiatives, as requested by the CEO and/or CFO, and as directed by the Bermuda-based SVP Continuous Improvement and Special Projects and various Steering Committees.  These projects will include, but not be limited to:

Supporting Project Management Office needs for ongoing Global Patrón Integration initiatives, working closely with the SVP Continuous Improvement and Special Projects and a cross-functional Senior Integration team to drive Global integration efforts

The “Forging the Future (FTF)” Finance transformation initiative, which is primarily targeted toward making fundamental improvement across different Global Financial functions to drive to best-in-class including:
  • Driving dramatic ways of working and streamlining MDS/SDS activities to enable focus on supporting    business partners (“de-clutter” the front line)
  • Driving automation and streamlining of Global Business Solutions and Stewardship areas
  • Working with Corporate Finance Group to support streamlining of annual budgeting process and other FP&A “pain points”
Work with Global Finance, Insights, Commercial, Marketing, GBS, RGM, Operations and Controllership functions to implement and execute initiatives to help develop a sustainably high standard across all key financial and business processes Bacardi Global Finance represents 500+ finance professionals, is split across various regions, functions and markets. Your ability to influence, communicate and drive change and value to the business will be critical.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

Program Management Office - Global Patrón Integration Initiatives 
  1. Supporting Program management throughout the program life cycle.
  2. Conducting weekly or bi-weekly workstream lead calls, as required
  3. Managing risks and issues and taking corrective measurements.
  4. Coordinating the projects and their interdependencies.
  5. Managing and utilizing resources across projects.
  6. Creating and managing stakeholders’ communication.
  7. Aligning the deliverables (outputs) to the program’s “outcome” with the communications, change management and IT support functions.
  8. Helping to lead monthly Global cross-functional Integration Workstream lead calls among Finance, Operations, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, HR, etc.
  9. Managing the main program documentation such as the program initiation document, Executive Committee and BIL Board Integration Subcommittee
Program Management Office - Global Finance Project (Forging the Future (FTF))
  1. Daily program management throughout the program life cycle.
  2. Defining the program governance (controls).
  3. Conducting weekly or bi-weekly workstream lead calls
  4. Focus on addressing/finding solutions for MDS/SDS “pain points” identified during the FTF Situation Assessment
  5. Managing risks and issues and taking corrective measurements.
  6. Coordinating the projects and their interdependencies.
  7. Managing and utilizing resources across projects.
  8. Creating and managing stakeholders’ communication.
  9. Aligning the deliverables (outputs) to the program’s “outcome” with the communications, change management and IT support functions.
  10. Managing the main program documentation such as the program initiation document, Operating and Executive Committee documents

Project Manage and implement the new global design for the Finance Organization
  1. Identify opportunities to eliminate or standardize activities and automate where possible – make finance and related processes as simple and effective as possible (keeping internal customer in mind).
  2. Design ways of working and the organizational structure that unlocks the potential of global finance talent and creates an efficient and effective team that delivers the finance strategy.
  3. Balance delivery of short and long-term goals.

Create a Winning Finance Organization
  1. Drive finance organization structure optimization.
  2. Drive values-based and operational culture.
  3. Develop and coach workstream leads in order to ensure high performance behavior, deliver results and grow talent
  4. Align all Primos behind targets and facilitate finance organization evolution to becoming strong business partners

Measures of success

  • Financial Results – successful implementation of key Global Finance initiatives 
  • No disruption to business due to integration efforts
  • Deliver integration synergies, as applicable
  • Process Efficiency and Productivity – external benchmark vs top class finance organizations on finance resource allocation; share of finance resources dedicated to business partnering and decision support
  • Finance Brand Equity –  trusted business partner, value proposition, communication, talent attraction and retention
  • Employee Enagagement - Drive sustained improvement in engagement and enablement, as measured through the Employee Engagement Survey (EES)
  • Talent - Deliver against talent management activities as measured via the Talent Scorecard (or other vehicle if not captured at this level).

Critical experiences for success

EXPERIENCE: Candidate must have strong project management experience with a proven track record of driving transformational initiatives through successful execution.  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage various stakeholders on various initiatives and influence outcomes a requirement of the role.  New initiatives may be added to the list of projects at the request of the CEO and/or CFO.  10+ years of financial management experience in consumer goods industry covering field and corporate assignments, working in multi-market and multi-cultural environments, including roles covering marketing finance, sales finance, commercial finance, revenue growth management, cash management and business development areas. Experience driving transformation across multi-market environment is a must. Experience in Spirits and/or Beverage industry is an advantage

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s or higher degree in finance & accounting (or related area); OR other university degree specialization accompanied with professional accounting qualification

LANGUAGE SKILLS: fluent English (written and verbal) and other languages an asset
