About the role

The Director, Human Resources, Geneva will play a crucial role in driving the people agenda from global strategy to execution in Geneva. He or she will be responsible for executing key HR activities such as recruitment, employee engagement, and development of top talent as well as driving a strong values-based performance culture through rigorous implementation of HR processes & systems. He or she will serve as a coach and mentor to further the evolution of the growth, history, culture, and heritage of the Company.  

The Director, Human Resources, Geneva will work closely with leadership teams to ensure that people strategy across Geneva meets business needs and creates an effective and efficient organization, driven by people who feel strongly engaged in the values, culture, and aspirations of Bacardi. 

Working with Regional and Global colleagues, the Director, Human Resources, Geneva will be accountable for ensuring effective and efficient execution of all activities and identifying opportunities to improve execution. Building the capabilities of the business leaders within Geneva is a key priority in which he or she plays a pivotal role.  Overall, the Director, Human Resources, Geneva will support the organization in becoming more engaged, organized, and effective whilst maintaining a strong values-based performance culture.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

HR Strategy & Programs
  • Deploy Global HR Agenda in alignment with Global HR and business strategy. Implement the HR strategy for the Geneva campus with the support of management and  HR Team.
  • Lead and project manage key HR initiatives and change programs to ensure that they are delivered in accordance with agreed requirements realizing effective co-ordination of people, resource and talent; to ensure that, as appropriate, such initiatives are embedded, and the benefits realized.
  • In participation with Global Compensation & Benefits as well as Talent Management and HR Operations community, participates in the deployment and administration of processes and programs.
  • Is an essential business partner for Geneva leadership teams in all people related and organizational matters: Understands the inner workings of the business to ensure the right talent strategies to deliver the business objectives.
  • Interprets HR policies and facilitates the resolution of people-related conflicts and issues; ensures ongoing service excellence through timely issue resolution and execution
  • Maintains HRIS and provides appropriate analysis and reporting to ensure effective insights are available
  • Oversees and administers execution of compensation and benefits programs (e.g., salary increases, bonus payments) in alignment with global policy/practice
  • Management of the pension fund with the pension manager, pension board and partners
Talent Management
  • Plays a key role in the effective execution of Talent acquisition, on boarding and development planning activities aligned to global HR strategy ensuring added value to the business and to colleagues within Geneva
  • Recommends talent sourcing needs and salary modifications in order to ensure appropriate staffing levels to support business needs
  • Leads career development (e.g. coaching, evaluations / reviews, transfers, promotions, retirements, exits, etc.) across Geneva
  • Supports and facilitates select employee training and development programs, providing tracking to ensure that employees have been impacted by the programs
  • Identifies and develops the future leaders through succession planning and talent management activities
  • Guides local business leaders in preparation for and facilitation of talent reviews and in the development of meaningful action plans
  • Maintains relevant role profiles to ensure clarity and consistency across the country including alignment to global principles
  • Ensures appropriate and timely performance management & Let’s Talk discussions by consulting and advising with line managers to ensure effective outcomes from the performance management process
  • Promote new HR training system” Let’s Learn” 
Employee Engagement
  • Leads employee engagement and reinforces parameters of culture, enabling line leadership to deliver results with an engaged, motivated team
  • Ensures employee engagement through strong support of Primo Engagement Survey (PES)
  • Monitor engagement level, support implementation of action plans to drive engagement within the targeted customer groups
  • Deploy key HR initiatives linked to culture and primos engagement such as 4G Global reflection,  Action Teams and Global Nominations, My Inspirit, etc 
  • Be the link between Primos Forum and Geneva Site Leaders to implement local initiatives
  • Ensure timely and effective reporting and communication of progress as required
  • Work closely with maintenance and Geneva site Lead Team to ensure all projects and requests linked to primos wellbeing are managed and implemented on time
Geneva point of contact
  • Close collaboration with the facilities team and plant to ensure site management
  • Ensure Geneva commodities are updated such as Primos seating plan and parking slots as well as any other ad hoc project
  • Ensures appropriate market knowledge on labor laws and practices and provides input to help ensure appropriate input on policies and procedures.  Oversees and engages in resolving employee/labor relations issues as needed
  • Manages employee, regulatory and labor relations initiatives / actions
  • Cultivates an open-door policy for all employees, therefore  continually supporting  compliance and integrity in business activities 
  • Develops a winning team with the Geneva based HR team

Measures of success

Performance: Achieve priorities in alignment with annual objectives and quarterly priorities
Customer: Achieve target customer satisfaction measures
Employee Engagement - Drive sustained improvement in engagement and enablement, as measured through the Pmployee Engagement Survey (PES) and usage of internal communications tools.
Talent: Deliver against talent management activities as measured via the Talent Scorecard or other key measures
Financial: Manages HR budget effectively when applicable. 
Brand /Company Image Protection –  Ensure protection of the company and brand through solid HR practices

Critical experiences for success

To be successful in this role you will have/be: 
  • University degree in Business Administration, HR or related business function or CFC
  • 3+  years in a HR Role or analyst type role, with experience in a human resources function preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with individuals at all levels in the organization
  • Strong organizational abilities with impeccable attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion
  • Financial or budget management skills a plus
  • Independent thinker,  strong business savvy and judgment to make independent decisions
  • Aptitude to work with an HRIS system like - Workday,
  • Strong analytic skills with ability to pull and synthesize data into meaningful summaries
  • Knowledge of human resource fundamentals a must
  • Excellent organization and planning skills
