About the role

Responsible for the operational execution,and performance management of Primary Transportation for the European domestic markets. Foment and maintain strong working relationships with carrier representatives and JF Hillebrand 4PL operations team.
Develop together with Bacardi Operations Centers (OC) & Market Companies Supply Cain Teams short and medium term tactical approach to secure the financial and operational targets of Bacardi.
  • Manage the EU domestic transportation tendering process to achieve optimal combination of carrier service levels and cost effectiveness contributing to Global Logistics goals and objectives.
  • Lead the development of performance reporting & implement a world-class execution and delivery system while continuing to drive continuous improvement throughout Bacardi operating businesses
  • Responsible for the optimization of the EU distribution network seeking opportunities for more effective & efficient routes to market by making the best use of industry knowledge, business relationship and corporate goasl.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

EU Domestic Operational Execution Management:
  • Build strong commercial relationships with existing and potential carriers to identify potential improvements in service and cost savings
  • Perform periodic transportation tenders to select suppliers based on optimal combination of service and cost using Bacardi Global Procedures
  • Ensure all carriers are contracted using the Bacardi Global Transportation Contract.. Work closely with all Bacardi stakeholders to get regular update on new lanes and volumes.
  • Integrate transport and capacity constraints using the planning process to manage short and medium term capacity for warehousing and distribution (primary and secondary transportation). 
  • Monitor payload maximization in close liaison with Customer Service and fulfillment teams  
  • Responsible for managing the JF Hillenbrand 4PL Operations Team related to EU Domestic logistics to ensure correct capacity of transport, service levels & regulatory requirements are performed .
  • Monitor  the timeliness of collection and delivery of Bacardi shipments and takes corrective actions when necessary
  • Provide support to local Plant logistics teams to assure the proper operational and security requirements are provided. 
  • Review and determine validity of ancillary invoices related to additional EU domestic related expenses. Provides assistance to Supply Chain Finance in resolving EU freight rate invoice discrepancies.

Processes and Procedures:
  • Build and document the regional transportation and warehousing policies and guidelines, and ensure support to Business Unit Logistics manager and plants traffic manager for their respect and implementation
  • Lead weekly Supplier Performance Management (SPM)  in order to achieve maximum carrier performance based on agreed KPI’s analysis and corrective action implementation
  • Monitor relevant regulatory and international freight legal conditions impacting the deeps sea transportation industry.
  • Develop and or support the development of new procedure related to the insurance, claim management, SOX compliance, security and ensure the timeliness of implementation of such new procedure in logistics department or wider logistics community in Bacardi. 
Performance Reporting:
  • Responsible for gathering and reporting the Global Logistics End to End Reports & KPI (Carrier Performance, OFR, Payload, Cost/Key Factors, Carrier Payment, etc.)
  • Responsible for preparing EU domestic performance metrics related to Order Fulfillment Rate (OFR), Payload Optimization & Deep Sea Carrier Performance Scorecard
  • Develop continuous improvement plans to drive key metric performance to deliver Bacardi Global Logistics goals & objectives  in collaboration with Customer Service, Operations Centers & Market Companies 
  • Liaise with Market Logistics Managers to monitor deep sea transportation process service levels for markets
  • Support optimization of regional flow of goods (raw materials, finished goods, POS) by implementing the agreed strategy related to transport
Project management: 
  • Lead relevant logistics projects to ensure proper processes are followed and result are delivered in time to the project stakeholders.
  • Support implementation of projects related to new product introduction, changes in product sourcing or new warehouse consolidations centers as the deep sea primary logistics subject material expert 
  • Participate to the annual budgets process by collecting and calculating, together with Finance team, the Budget and LE proposal for transportation and warehousing activities.
  • Provide transportation industry operational insights related to deep sea carrier market conditions or regulatory environment that may impact budgeted global logistics objectives.

Measures of success

Critical experiences for success

  • 3+ years experience in logistics or related experience in procurement amd/or supply chain finance.  
  • Subject material expert in transportation tender management and documentation
  • Experience international freight legal guidelines and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems especially in SAP
  • Excellent skills in time management and multiple task management
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) for business case presentations
  • 4 year degree supply chain, accounting, finance or related degree (MBA Preferred) 
  • Willing to travel to engage with our service Providers and other Bacardi Units
  • Functional & Technical Skills : 
  • Exposure to supply chain issues within an integrated planning environment
  • Knowledge of the transport and WH industry with all the related attributes of logistics 
  • SAP experience and experience with  Transport management software
  • Experience in carrier selection process (tendering) & SPM (Supplier Performance Management)
