About the role

Your Opportunity

Member of Bacardi UKOC Engineering Team, you will provide professional capex project management and engineering technical support for our Malt Distilling sites. A key leadership role, working with local distillery management teams plus other key stakeholders, leading / supporting development & delivery of key strategic projects; aligned to UKOC’s Best 10 Big Bets, future volume growth projections, ambition for Net Zero operational sites by 2030 and collaboratively helping to deliver energy plus operational asset reliability improvements at a local level.   

About You
  • You ideally will be a Chartered Engineering Professional with industry experience, have passion for continuous improvement / innovation and delivery track record.
  • You have led major capex projects, have a good understanding of asset maintenance management strategies with sound knowledge of health & safety plus environmental legislation applicable to malt distilling.   
  • You have excellent matrix teamworking & communication skills, plus ability to effectively influence key internal stakeholders and external stakeholders at all levels.


With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:
  • Support development and delivery of the strategic capex plans for Malt Distilling sites within Bacardi UK Operations.
  • Project manage major capex projects from conception to completion engaging effectively with all internal and external stakeholders; ensuring delivery to specification, programme and budget parameters.
  • Provide engineering functional leadership on maintenance strategy for Distilleries that minimizes periods of unplanned downtime, silent season outage periods and promotes CI culture.
  • Lead/facilitate deployment of Maintenance Excellence pillar as part of Bacardi Operating System (BOS)
  • Optimize the utilization and effectiveness of 3rd party contractors supporting maintenance activities on distillery sites.
  • Provide local Engineering leadership on the ambitious drive to Net Zero by 2030. 
  • Working with SQS and Distillery teams ensuring compliance on all engineering related legislative requirements. (e.g. PSSR, DSEAR, PUWER etc.)
  • Work with wider Bacardi UK Engineering Teams on developing Standards and sharing best practice. 
  • Help ensure distillery technical records are up to-date ensuring Bacardi UKOC Change Management Procedures deployed consistently. Provide technical advice and coaching support to malt distilling operational teams.

Skills and Experience

The Skills & Experience needed to create your legacy
  • University Degree (Engineering or Science based) ideally Chartered, minimum 5 years industry experience. 
  • General working knowledge of malt distilling processes and associated process plant.
  • Excellent project management skills in development and delivery of major capital projects.
  • Good understanding of asset care, maintenance excellence and plant reliability optimization techniques. 
  • Working knowledge of health & safety legislation, including CDM, DSEAR, PUWER and Asbestos Management (ideally hold NEBOSH qualification). 
  • Excellent problem solver, innovative in finding solutions, ability to think in the future, anticipate trends and opportunities, personal drive moving ideas to action
