About the role

The role is a part of Bacardi Global Operations (GOPS) that manages Global Manufacturing, Logistics, Procurement, SQS and R&D within Bacardi Limited.

This role supports Operating Expense planning and control process across various Global Functions within Global Operations – Manufacturing, Logistics, Direct Procurement, Safety, Quality and Sustainability (SQS), R&D, Finance, HR, Packaging Development and Activity Management.
He/she is a key player assisting management on Capital Expenditure & Management and custodian of Bacardi Capex Management tool, thereby working across all operation centres and markets for the CAPEX.

As a part of finance team, she/he is also responsible for the monthly closing and reporting of the Meyrin Plant in Geneva. 

You will be working closely with senior management including global function leads and their finance & HR business partners.

In this role, depending on business priorities, you will likely often find yourself in your office. 

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

A: Operating Expenses - Overheads
  • Budget / Latest Estimate Planning
  • Coordinate Budget and LE processes with function leads and their finance business partners (Global Manufacturing, Logistics, R&D, Quality, Environment, Health and Safety within Bacardi Limited).
  • Provide budgeting guidelines & methodology for G&A cost planning (inflation, approach for consulting, etc.).
  • Propose, collect and validate assumptions & necessary information with function leads and their finance business partners.
  • Prepare presentations, analysis and review with the the GOps Finance or Function heads as appropriate.
  • Work with Cognos TM1 to submit and analyse performance.

Monthly Closing and Reporting of GOPS Operating Costs
  • Review monthly variances in SAP and Cognos TM1 (financial planning & consolidation tool) for main G&A items such as Payroll, Travel, Consulting, etc. - request journals entries if required.
  • Provide comments on the variances (Actual, Budget, Latest Estimate) .
  • Identify R&Os and work on savings/remediation plans.
  • Track relevant balance sheet accounts and accruals.
  • Issue monthly report to internal customers including cost and headcount variance analysis and comments.
  • Perform SOX testing and Assist Auditors.
  • Pro-actively identify opportunities to improve forecast accuracy, automation and standardization.

B: Capital Expenditure management activities
  • Ownership and stewardship of the Bacardi Global Capex process and systems.
  • Drive process discipline, improvement and better reporting; improve integration with SAP and Bacardi Global Shared Services.
  • GOPS Capex project reporting, from their initial budget approval to completion, in order to ensure timely completion and to avoid overruns.
  • Consolidate input and discuss quarterly rolling forecast with relevant project key leads..
  • Provide management with the latest estimates, quarterly reporting on project status, KPIs & financial progress.
  • Prepare quarterly capex updates to the global finance and CFO.
  • Steward investment project quality by continuous enhancement of process, data, analysis and validation requirements supporting Capex project approval.
  • Perform financial reviews of large GOPS Capex projects, including post-completion audits while ensuring that policies and guidelines are developed & adhered in accordance with overall strategies.
  • Maintain the Bacardi Authorization Tool (BAT). To ensure proper approvals are in place before any investment decisions.

C: Meyrin Plant Finance Business Partner
  • Budget / Latest Estimate Planning
  • Coordinate Budget and LE with the plant management team such as people costs, maintenance & repairs, depreciation, consumables, etc.
  • Provide inputs and assumptions for the standard cost calculation to the Standard Costing Team
  • Prepate presentations, analysis and review with GOPS senior management
  • Budget submission in TM1 by P&L line

Monthly closing and reporting
  • Review monthly plant performance (Earnings from Operations) versus budget
  • Provide comments to plant management team on variances (Production volumes, PPV, Write-offs and production costs ) 
Global Operations Financial Governance, Controls and ad-hoc requests
  • Global functional cost reporting support for SQS, Procurement, Finance, HR, etc. (covering central, plant and other field entities)
  • Create & update cost centers/Profit center in SAP Master Data tool following Group Reporting Guidelines for GOPS.
  • Monitor that new employee recruitment process follows Group requirements and approval flows.
  • Challenge current processes, propose new solutions and drive continuous improvement. Work with IT to develop new reports.
  • Participate and support ad-hoc global projects / initiatives 
  • Understand stakeholder needs and provide appropriate advice and solutions
  • Review and develop process maps as required to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the role.

Support GOPS FP&A team in driving continuous process improvements, realignment and efficiencies.

Critical experiences for success

Experience: Min. 7 years+ of experience in financial analysis utilizing advanced management reporting systems Experience in consumer goods manufacturing & logistics financial analysis will be considered as an advantage

Education: University degree with specialization in finance, accounting or controlling

Language Skills: fluent English (written and verbal); French and other languages an asset

  • Cognos TM1, Outlook, SAP IM/PS experience is an advantage
