About the role

Your Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to be part of the controllership team responsible for the core financial processes across a wide variety of US entities, including Bacardi’s largest operating company BUSA and one of Bacardi’s most exciting joint ventures.

The role will interact with all areas of finance including Commercial Finance, Performance Management and Budget Control and Reporting as well as interactions with all functions to ensure that accounting processes and controls are operating effectively throughout the US companies (excluding Plants).

About You
  • You will be a hands-on team leader with significant experience in core financial processes including RTR, OTC, PTP and ITF. You will have experience managing a team locally and overseeing the output from a shared service team.
  • You will strive to find operational efficiencies in all processes and have a founder’s mentality to ensure a balance approach to control environment recommendations.
  • You will have significant accounting GAAP knowledge and have an interest in complex accounting concepts.


With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:
  • Team management including direct reports and oversight of our shared services team
  • Day to day responsibility, improvement and education of PTP, OTC and RTR processes and other key accounting areas for US entities
  • Responsible for accounting questions, new contract reviews and working with Corporate HQ and external auditors to draft and conclude accounting positions for all significant changes in the business
  • Responsible for all SOX process, including SOX planning and certification, oversee interim SOX testing, responsible for the resolution of deficiencies and recommendations and leading the execution of the testing for Pensions.
  • Assisting with the planning, execution and review of transfer pricing and interactions with regional tax team

Skills and Experience

The Skills & Experience needed to create your legacy
  • 10+ years of incremental responsibilities in finance with a current role at or near a Corporate Controller or Finance Director level or the equivalent experience at a Big 4 Accountancy Firm
  • Significant experience in managing month- quarter- & year-end financial statement close processes under US GAAP in a global multinational environment
  • Experience with procure to pay, order to cash, inventory to fulfil and record to report business cycles, placing reliance on a shared service center
  • Excellent understanding of US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley / AICPA controls testing and experience of completing accounting research through to conclusions with external and internal stakeholders
  • Experience of SAP, Anaplan, IBM Cognos TM1 and IBM Controller reporting tools preferred
