About the role

ABOUT THE ROLE

The purpose of the position is to act as a trusted support to Production Managers and Plant Controller, ensuring the analysis and challenge of Financials evolution, the communication on actual performance focusing on drivers of variances and the forecasting of the risks and opportunities on a YTG basis.

The resource will relate continuously with local Production Managers to ensure the delivery of expected results and the collaboration on new Projects and Continuous Improvement.

Reporting to the Italy Supply Plant Controller, the candidate should have 1 to 3 years of experience in finance control, possibly in Industrial context.

The candidate should be analytical and rigorous but capable of explaining and communicating with Business stakeholders on a daily basis. Proactivity and continuous improvement attitude will be key skills required.

Responsibilities

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Business Partner role
  • Monitor performance against targets, understand business drivers impacting performance and use analysis to provide insights to managers as well as to influence to challenge performance.
  • Ensure budget delivery control and facilitate correcting action plans if required
  • Support business cases (new product, value engineering, make or buy, capex and savings...) - marginal / full costing
  • Identify business leverages and risks with financial impacts 
  • Identify, measure and reports other risks (internal control, etc...), set up and implement action plans to address them.

Reporting and cost controlling
  • Manage all aspects of the month end reporting and year end closing
  • Manage relationship with Shared services
  • Prepare Monthly Performance reporting to key stakeholders

Budget process / Forecast process
  • Own the Budgeting & Forecasting process on site – coordinate all activities ensuring commitment from business representatives
  • Scope covers all areas of plant responsibility, including Usage variances to standards, Capex, Inventory, WO, Production Performances 

Projects and Capital expenditure
  • Critically appraise new projects, including savings and payback calculations
  • Ensure the most effective project tracking  for all important initiatives & projects
  • Support NPD projects from costing perspective

Product Costing SAP based
  • Ensure the accuracy of Standard production costs calculation 

Internal control & compliance (SOX)
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and specifically with BL Financial Reporting Manual and other Group internal practices and procedures
  • Ensure respect of Sox procedures
  • Inventory stocktaking and loss control
  • Write-Off process under control 
  • Ensure accounting in accordance with BL Financial Reporting Manual
  • Responsible for maintaining Financial Internal control environment

Skills and Experience

CRITICAL EXPERIENCES FOR SUCCESS
  • University degree, preferably in Finance and Controlling 
  • 1 to 3 years experience in Controlling, with first experience in Industrial context
  • Fluent English
  • Analytical approach but with ability to communicate and influence the business
  • Promotes positive working relationships with peers and Management
  • Capability to plan, organize, prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Autonomous / Proactive / Results oriented / Customer Focus / always Positive / strong Energy
  • Advanced Excel use required, SAP experience would be a plus

FUNCTIONAL EXCELLENCE
  • Ability to work effectively and achieve results in a matrix organization
  • Process focused with an understanding of end to end business processes and their financial impacts
  • Ability to identify root cause issues and develop plans to resolve
  • Skilled at organizing and prioritizing multiple projects and resource constraints to optimize results
