About the role

Lead the financial control, governance, reporting and financial accounting for the UK Operations Centre (UKOC).  More than a traditional controller,  the role is also key in driving performance management for the UKOC.  

The UKOC is the most complex OC within the Bacardi Group and is responsible for the distillation, maturation and production of the Group’s Scotch Whisky and Gin product portfolio.  This role will provide the opportunity to step beyond the numbers and learn about how we make these fantastic products, that consumers enjoy, across the world, every day.

As part of the UKOC Finance Management team, this senior role will drive improved financial control of the UKOC, is responsible for leading various compliance processes, financial reporting consolidation activity and is the key contact for the UKOC for the Global Business Service Centre, Auditors, Global Finance, Tax and Treasury teams. 

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Lead the Financial accounting, reporting, and analysis for the UK Operations
  • Drive improvements in cash management, reporting, analysis, governance, and control
  • Business partner with the UKOC Support functions, challenging, collaborating and finding ways to drive the business forward to be the best it can be, utilizing our resources effectively to unlock value
  • Develop innovative processes to support financial governance and control, with diligence and measure
  • Deliver critical tasks to deadlines, including monthly reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and SOX controls
  • Grow you, your team and colleagues as well as the business, so the next 10 years are the best for you and Bacardi

Critical experiences for success

The skills and experience needed to create your legacy:
  • A professional accounting qualification with post qualification experience commensurate to the role
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or FMCG is beneficial, but not essential
  • A high level of technical accounting competence is desirable, an audit background may be beneficial but not essential
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate financial issues and solutions to non-financial colleagues
  • Analytical and diligent in approach, with an attention to detail
  • Strong systems skills and excel wizardry, with the ability to digest complexity and find innovative solutions
  • Some infrequent travel to other UK Operations sites, including distilleries, may be required
