Responsibilities

With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:

  • Assist in the preparation of the consolidated financial statements and required disclosures in accordance with group accounting policies and U.S. GAAP
  • Lead the application of U.S. GAAP standards in the group’s financial reporting, including performing technical research, preparing accounting memos and delivering training
  • Maintain current knowledge of all relevant developments and issues regarding U.S. GAAP and public company reporting and updating/implementing accounting policies/procedures
  • Responsible for the accounting and reporting of short-term and long-term bonus plans  
  • Responsible for the accounting and reporting, including overseeing the work of 3rd parties, in the following areas:
    • Defined benefit pension plans
    • Business combinations and equity investments
    • Impairment reviews of intangible assets, goodwill and equity investments
    • Use of derivatives to hedge the Company’s balance sheet and cash flow exposures
  • Ensuring SOX compliance, including maintaining the internal control documentation, implementing new controls as necessary and working with the Company’s internal and external SOX compliance team
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to senior management, Board of Directors and the Audit Committee, analysing actual results versus prior year and budget
  • Management of the disclosure committee process  
  • Management of the external audit and quarterly reviews
  • Ensure the completion and performance of Special Projects as requested

Skills and Experience

The Skills & Experience needed to create your legacy
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting 
  • SEC public company reporting (preferable but not required) 
  • Direct experience with SAP and IBM Cognos systems (preferable but not required)
  • Direct experience with Sarbanes-Oxley internal control reporting requirements
  • Direct experience in U.S. GAAP accounting for defined benefit pension plans, purchase accounting, and impairment testing of intangible assets
  • Direct experience in consolidation accounting of subsidiaries across multiple foreign currency jurisdictions
  • Proven analytical and presentation skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team environment to achieve results
  • Highly proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint 
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA, CA or ACCA qualification required 
  • The following experience is preferred, 5+ years of public accounting experience in a global accounting firm
