About the role

The Global Category Buyer for IT will be part of the Global Indirect Procurement organization.
The Category Buyer will lead, implement, and manage sourcing and bidding projects (including e-sourcing & e-auctions) for the categories of IT (Software, Hardware, Consulting IT, Telecom, Outsourcing Infrastructure, Hardware Maintenance, Servers, Printing services, Consumables). All sourcing activities will be done with the support of The Global Indirect Procurement Manager and Director. Category Buyer will create Outline agreements, define purchasing channels and review and approve Indirect Spend purchase orders via SRM tool, check for opportunities to source and leverage our Global Indirect Procurement Sourcing Strategy.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Develop an internal network to capture needs, prioritize project and lead and/or support sourcing initiatives for IT in a global basis
  • Support Global Category Director and Manager on RFP building (e-sourcing), data analysis, market analysis, spend analysis, and global vendor consolidation
  • Work with different business stakeholders and suppliers
  • Review, maintain, and strategically source from the list of Preferred Suppliers (PSL)
  • Negotiate local, Regional and Global agreements to support Bacardi’s Operations
  • Pull, maintain, upload contracts for their specific category, and maintain final document in Global database
  • Support global category director and manger in contract lifecyle management process
  • Identify the need for additional training / communication related to the PTP Process
  • Identify and track savings opportunities in their category and input these in our Savings Tracker
  • Review, Approve and/or challenge Category Shopping Carts
  • Manage Supplier creation/ modification/ blocking process through MDG


Measures of success

  • Confidence in understanding the category and the Bacardi indirect procurement function
  • Working as a team to help achieve common objectives of the procurement and IT function
  • Delivery of category savings as per agreed targets, both savings and working capital
  • Gather valuable input to help frame global sourcing strategies as relevant with benchmarks and market insights
  • Ensure high compliance on Preferred Supplier List (PSL)
  • Identification and implementation of possible automation
  • Support Global & Regional Steercos 
  • Be the e-sourcing champion giving support to the team to run e-sourcing activities and e-auctions
  • Manage Supplier creation process, Timely and Accurate approval of all category Purchase orders and Create outline agreement covering X % of spend
  • Successful training sessions / communications for Bacardi users and stakeholders

Critical experiences for success

To be successful in this role you will have / be: 
  • 3+ years procurement and sourcing experience in Indirect Procurement categories (including e-sourcing)
  • Relevant education University degree in Business and/or Finance and/or Engineering and/or related discipline;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English. Spanish as a second language is a real asset.
  • The ability to flawlessly execute in an environment with high volume and high complexity
  • Knowledge of SAP SRM, BI (for spend analysis) and e-sourcing platforms
  • Excellent Excel skills and PowerPoint presentation
  • Strong analytical skills required with emphasis in generating reports/presentations  and ability to facilitate recommendations at all levels.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with remote stakeholder
  • Basic Project Management experience
The following experiences are preferred:
  • Experience in the Spirits and/or FMCG industry is a distinct advantage  
  • Solid knowledge of Indirect Procurement Operations in Source to contract (S2C) and Purchase to pay (PTP)
  • Experience in matrix organizations
