About the role

What does a Human Resources Director do?

As a Bacardi Human Resources Director, you will be responsible for supporting Operations and all the associated teams (Supply Chain located in Miami, Bacardi Operations Center located in Jacksonville, our Puerto Rico plant located in Catano and Angels Envy Operations located in Louisville).   

You will provide guidance to management on organizational effectiveness, including capability, structure, change management, and communication. You will coach leaders on best known methods of human resources practices, including performance management and development, compensation, employee relations and hiring. You will need to understand client's business needs to ensure HR practices support business goals. Be part of a global HR network to identify, align and share HR best practices.

The role is based in our Coral Gables/Miami, FL USA office.  There will also be necessary travel to stay connected to all stakeholders when required and relevant.

About You 

A dynamic, authentic, agile leader who is action oriented and results driven. You will have a strong background in HR along with a track record of successful building and maintaining of stakeholder relationships. You will need to manage and balance a matrix environment where different functions and teams could be competing for your time and attention. You will have strong credibility and knowledge in all aspects of HR and associated laws and policies.


With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, training and retention.
  • Support design and ensure implementation of org changes aligned with Role Model Organizations and talent strategy. 
  • Monitor employee engagement level, support implementation of action plans to drive engagement. 
  • Conduct and lead the annual Talent Review process and ensure succession pipeline for critical roles 
  • Support line managers in creation and implementation of development plans for identified population (e.g. top/rising talent). 
  • Recruit and integrate high quality candidates according to business needs, lead-time and recruitment cost targets.
  • Drive and advocate for ACT and Global Reflections strategies and plans in all our primo activities.
  • Drive Building Capabilities programs for the team(s) in line with people strategy and plans.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations to reduce risks and ensure regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed/required. 
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures in terms of conduct, mobility, compensation & benefits, internal & external recruitment, onboarding, development, training, etc.
  • Maintain HR systems (primarily WorkDay), ensure data is kept up to date and correct and provide relevant analysis and reports as required.

  • Strong drive for results with positive, transparent, and ethical leadership style 
  • Strong capability of facilitating and delivering HR programs is required, with clear value-added focus and deliverables and links to anticipated business benefits. 
  • Strong relationship builder in complex organizational contexts, able to lead initiatives that will build a stronger “All In” mindset. 
  • Is non-bureaucratic, listens and is people-oriented
  • Handles ambiguity with comfort, is resourceful, solution orientation and has a growth mindset
  • A self-starter, who works well with autonomy and can prioritize with sound judgement
  • Technical skills will help to support the candidate’s success
Personal Qualities
  • University Degree and 7+ years HR experience in a leadership capacity, preferably with supporting large teams and senior leaders
  • Strong understanding of US Labor Laws, and knowledge/awareness of other country labor laws in the context of global projects

  • Previous experience from consumer goods and/or beverage companies would be beneficial
