About the role
Responsibilities
- Leading the SUBSA Finance Team in facilitating long-term profitable net earnings and free cash flow growth for the business
- Supporting the evolution, implementation and governance of SUBSA strategy vs agreed key performance indicators; ensuring a consistent focus and clarity around resource allocation decisions
- Partnering with the Managing Director and the commercial team in negotiations with customers and distributors
- Owning key pieces of management information and their use within the organization, and exhibiting strong financial management practices to ensure no surprises in delivery
- Developing relevant reports and analytics in order to support better delivery across SUBSA
- Standard cost coordination and working with the regional team to submit information to global finance function
- Leading analysis and explanation of gross profit drivers considering changes between pricing, volume and mix
- Leading the annual financial planning cycle for SUBSA, including timely delivery of budgets and latest forecasts
- Maintaining the administration and compliance of the South African and Nigerian legal entities , including internal and external audit processes, including B-BEEE strategy and execution
- Working closely with Supply Chain counterparts to ensure coordination between Finance & S&OP forecasts and management of working capital
- Building a close working relationship and strong networks within the Finance community including within, but not limited to, AMEA and with Bacardi Enterprise Services
- Playing a critical role within the AMEA Finance Leadership Team, helping drive development of the Finance function across AMEA and the wider business, contributing towards and benefitting from best practice and shared ways of working
- Taking care of various remote/in market A&P audits for distributors markets
- Work on growth plans, build strong business cases for regional projects
- Support on other requests as required e.g. management of key cost lines and reviews of variance vs plan and prior periods
Skills and Experience

- Financial Analysis: Ability to create advanced spreadsheets, explain variances to estimates, identify business risks and opportunities, and make appropriate recommendations.
- Ability to identify and understand patterns and interconnectivity of relevant data in order to predict business performance.
- Project Management: Ability to manage projects/tasks to ensure successful delivery (on time and within budget) while identifying potential issues/risks.
- Basic Operating Systems: Knowledge of basic software and operating systems and all related aspects (e.g., system tools, software, hardware, related products and controls)
- Should have worked in an work environment where SAP usage was important
- Ability to identify root cause issues and develop plans to resolve.
- Ability to communicate effectively to senior leadership.
- Fast learning, flexible and high commitment to deliver results.
- Be Proactive and ambitious.
- 10-12 years experience in Accounting field in an FMCG environment
- Holds Certified Public Accountant (CPA) / Chartered Accountant (CA), relevant finance qualification to work in South Africa
- Having some experience as Auditor is a bonus
- Proficiency in SAP, including SAP, Profitability analysis and Project System.
- Ability to work independently and in a group environment.
- Excel skills are required. Working knowledge of other Microsoft Office Products.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast paced environment.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills a must.
- Your ability to operate and orchestrate seamlessly within the matrix will be critical for your success in this role and of the function.
