About the role

WHAT DOES AN INDIRECT TAX & TECHNOLOGY MANAGER (EUROPE) DO?

The world of indirect tax is fast changing with countries adopting new and more sophisticated measures and increasing use of technology to track business transactions.
As the Indirect Tax & Technology manager for the EU region, with a reporting line to the Senior Indirect Tax advisory & Technology Manager, you will support the business: 
  • by ensuring that changes in the Indirect Tax legislation and/or reporting is captured in due time and translated properly in the ERP system with the support of a dedicated IT team.  
  • on Indirect Tax matters for the EU region in which Bacardi is active as well as interacting with tax authorities on audits and other ad hoc requests.

Responsibilities

WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART, YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:
  • provide high quality indirect tax advice, support and insight on any business changes, projects and systems updates which mitigate Indirect Tax risk and support the business in as tax efficient manner as possible.
  • work closely with the Senior Indirect Tax & Technology manager and other departments (finance, trade team, customs & excise) to ensure that global trade and Indirect Tax rules work in a harmonized way and any divergence in the rules are identified and dealt with to keep disruption to trade to a minimum.
  • monitor changes to the VAT legislation or new requirements and assist in the timely execution of these changes in SAP (E2E) to ensure compliance with Indirect Tax rules.
  • Working actively with the global tax and IT team to support alignment between the business and the Bacardi trading structure and business set-up in SAP.


Skills and Experience

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY:
  • A Master's or bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline (e.g. Economics, Engineering Tax law etc.) 
  • 7+ years of technical experience in Indirect Tax 
  • Strong understanding of multinational enterprises and good written communication and presentation skills; up to date with key international tax developments (SAF-T, e-invoicing, …) 
  • Practical SAP experience and good MS office skills
  • Fluent English (oral & written) and one/several other language skills.
  • Strong communication skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability to work proactively, independently and to drive projects.
