About the role

YOUR OPPORTUNITY

As Legal Counsel, UK/Ireland/ANZ, based in London, UK, you will work in close collaboration with the local leadership teams to provide business-oriented legal services in a fast-paced commercial and marketing environment. You will also perform cross functional and regional assignments, such as legal training, and boosting the compliance and GDPR awareness of the teams, under the supervision of the Regional General Counsel EUROC.

Responsibilities

WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART, YOUR KEY FOCUS WILL BE
  • Support to local Commercial/Sales teams (off trade, on trade and digital ecommerce), such as drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts and terms and conditions, adopting a risk-based approach which enables efficient solutions for tomorrow’s challenges and advances Bacardi’s commercial interests 
  • Support to local Marketing teams (including IP and innovation) to enable growth and development of disruptive campaigns, while mitigating legal and social responsibility risks associated with alcohol advertising
  • Enhance Governance and Compliance across the markets including the maintenance of GDPR requirements 
  • Defend Bacardi against complaints and regulatory investigations
  • Continually seek to expand your knowledge of Bacardi’s business and legal expertise
  • Interact effectively with Legal and Company Secretarial colleagues, functional leaders and other clients to complete tasks accurately and efficiently and to enhance the reputation of the Legal function

Skills and Experience

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY
  • Batchelor’s Degree and LPC 
  • Significant level of post qualification experience in commercial law practice, either in a law firm and/or in FMCG industries.
  • Proven track record in providing legal advice in areas including contracts, competition law, data protection and intellectual property law.
  • Fluent English, and a second European language is an advantage.
