About the role

WHAT DOES AN LEGAL COUNSEL DO?

Legal Counsel at Bacardi China supports key business stakeholders and works closely with the Legal Director, he/she play a critical role in enabling and protecting the smooth business operations and building an effective company culture of doing the right thing.

ABOUT YOU

As Legal Counsel for Greater China you will be the legal advisor for all key divisions. And this role requires providing high quality and timely legal support to function teams on a wide range of business matters. 
In particular, you will support front-line commercial operations, marketing activities and E-Commerce team initiatives as well as assist legal director on key projects and provide adequate legal & compliance training programs to primos.

Responsibilities

WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART, YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:
  • Develop and update standard templates, general terms and other legal documentation;
  • Draft, review and negotiate various commercial contracts in both English and/or Chinese;
  • Provide profound and value added legal advice, solutions and support to business functions
  • Participate cross-function review of advertisement, artwork, labels, POSM and communication materials;
  • Create and administrate legal knowledge and document database, interface to information sources ( external law firms and legal services providers, group company and functions) 
  • Supervision and administration of contract management and contracting process 
  • Monitoring and keep track of multi-jurisdictional and legislative development in the relevant countries and region
  • Assist on business projects, data security and privacy, dispute resolution, corporate governance initiatives and related documentation
  • Support or lead in conducting training and education programs to colleagues and management on legal & compliance topics;
  • Legal administration and other ad hoc work assigned

Skills and Experience

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY:
  • Graduate of a leading law school, major in commercial law, overseas education will be preferred;
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English;
  • More than 3 years related working experience in international law firm, top tier local law firm, or as an in-house legal counsel in multinational company. FMCG, QSR and Pharmaceutical industry will be a plus;
  • Strong communication and persuasion skills
  • Effective planning and organization skills
