About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead Analytics: Lead first class analysis —including asking strategic questions, defining logic, business rules and assumptions—needed to make business decisions. Deliver analyses employing a variety of programs (MS Excel, etc.) and business intelligence tools (Power BI, etc.) to identify, extract and analyze data.
- Synthesizes strategic issues and develops a broad range of alternatives with minimal guidance. This will include evaluation of options based upon appropriate criteria, sound logic for recommendations and the ability to clearly articulate viewpoint.
- Transferable learnings. The timely import and export of learnings and intelligence relevant to specific initiatives (‘Search & Spin’) is a key responsibility of the role.
- Communicate Insights: Support team members in the development of presentations to effectively communicate the "so what."
- Research: The ability to simultaneously conduct both ad hoc and ongoing research projects
- Manage Projects: Support team members with analytical support as needed, but can also demonstrate the ability to manage a project end-to-end.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree is required. Preferably in business, finance, economics, engineering, accounting or applied math. MBA is preferred.
- Relevant analytical work experience is required. 3-5 years of work experience, preferably in consulting. But will consider applicants with strong academic results and internship experience
- Strategic Mindset: the ability to take complex topics and proactively drill down to most relevant pieces of information in order to derive practical recommendations.
- Analytical/Problem-Solving Skills: Must demonstrate strong critical thinking capabilities and problem-solving skills. Should be comfortable with interpreting and manipulating large amounts of data, “sense checking” along the way. Must demonstrate a structured, analytical thought process and be comfortable working with ambiguity.
- Project Management Skills: Must possess excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Must have knowledge of extracting data from a database (knowledge of relational databases and Structured Query Language (SQL) is a strong plus). Advanced proficiency in MS Excel. Must be proficient in MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to tell a story with data. Must also be able to adjust story based upon context and stakeholder needs (e.g. Board of Directors, regional leadership, functional meetings, etc.)
- Detail Oriented: Accuracy and attention to detail are imperative.
- Commitment: Must demonstrate commitment to getting the job done. Hours will vary on a weekly basis based on workload and project deadlines.
- People & Team Skills: Must have sufficient self-confidence, poise, and interpersonal skills to be able to work effectively as part of a team and to take part in professional discussions. Must demonstrate ability to be a team player and quick learner in a dynamic, fast-paced fun environment.
