About the role

Your Opportunity

The Marketing Director – India, works in close collaboration with the India Leadership Team and AMEA regional marketing  to play a critical role in taking our great portfolio of brands to the next level. 

You will do this by crafting brilliant strategies based on astute consumer insights and crisp execution at commercial level. As Marketing Director, you will be responsible for creating a legacy by driving key decisions to drive the presence and positioning of our brands in India. You will be accountable for delivering brand performance, P&L targets, driving value creation and complete responsibility for leading the entire brand portfolio for India. Your ability to manage multiple projects at any given time will be key, as will be your ability to work seamlessly and influence behavior within the matrix of  India Commercial teams and  AMEA regional marketing team. 

In this role, you will:
  • Be part of the India Leadership Team influencing decision making and identifying marketing priorities to drive growth.
  • Lead India’s target setting and deliver the Integrated Activity Plan (IAP) process
  • Input India’s market requirements into AMEA & global brand leads, ensuring key insights are factored into brand strategy and assets.
  • Identify A&P prioritization to fuel highest potential opportunities.
  • Be accountable for Brand P&Ls in India, ensuring a heightened business performance awareness.
  • Coach, develop, inspire, and lead the India consumer & customer marketing teams
  • Lead in building belief and strong relationships internally with Commercial leaders & our partners to ensure successful execution of brand programmes
You will be based in Gurgaon, with frequent travel within India & AMEA region.


With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:
  • Build deep understanding of target consumer groups, across key geographies in India
  • Identify the key market intelligence that will drive strategic business decisions
  • Partner with commercial teams in achieving brand plans, especially in the on-trade
  • Participate in defining the market pricing plan in close partnership with the commercial team
  • Secure sign-off from Regional Category Leads on the proposed IAP and then own delivery of the plan, inspiring distributors, and commercial teams to execute the plan with excellence
  • Be accountable for delivery of brand P&L performance targets (revenue, profitability, share, equity) 
  • Ensure measurement and evaluation & a learning plan to identify, codify and rollout successful brand growth drivers
  • Oversee design and execution of selected brand assets
  • Digitally savvy with social media expertise to lead digitalization, partnering with Digital Center of Excellence 
  • Oversees development of all consumer-facing brand assets and activities during IAP process and secure alignment with Regional Category Leads on all planned brand communication
  • Ensure all brand assets developed adhere to global brand guidelines and follow the Bacardi Way of Growth
  • Create a winning team and develop talent & capability

Skills and Experience

The Skills & Experience needed to create your legacy
  • Should be currently leading an iconic brand or portfolio of brands at a senior level in a multinational, where the incumbent would be responsible to make strategic decisions for driving brand positioning. 
  • Experience in leadership roles within a matrix organization. 
  • Proficient in handling P&L accountabilities
  • Experience in leading marketing and brand strategy with a strong knowledge of the Indian landscape
  • Commercial Marketer with strong understanding of all aspects of the business across the key variables: Channel, Price, Promotional activity, Through-the-line activation, etc.
  • Experience in building Brand Architectures to fit consumer needs and that inform product, packaging innovation pipeline
  • New World Marketing with a proven track record of building brands via digital, social, experiential, influencer and content marketing
  • People developer and team builder with an ability of embracing diversity of thinking and build strong teams 
  • BA Marketing qualification or equivalent
  • 15+ years of experience which includes holding Senior Marketing / Brand positions. Alcoholic Beverage background is a preference or should have experience working with consumer centric organisations, lifestyle brands
  • Proven experience in systemic business planning and establishing marketing processes/capabilities
  • Great communication skills and gravitas with the ability to present credibly to local, regional, and global stakeholders
  • Resilience and mental strength to deal with ambiguity and  inspire and motivate the team. 
  • Inspiring primo leader with drive to continuously improve and develop capabilities within the organization
  • International experience is not mandatory but a bonus. Equally, this is a step in the direction of a regional or global career with Bacardi, so we are looking for Primos who are globally mobile.
