About the role

Your Opportunity

This is an amazing opportunity to be part of the South Africa commercial team as National Sales Manager Off Trade. Your principal role will be to help create legacy for the brands and help in building customer relationships, developing business in the market. 

About You

As the National Sales Manager Off Trade, you will be the voice of the Off Trade in identifying opportunities in the market. You will inspire and equip the sales team to deliver. You will play a key role in building customer relationships in the market. You will be responsible for coordinating and supervising all off trade sales and merchandising activities nationally.


With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:
  • Support & Manage 3rd party to ensure Operational Excellence 
  • Trade visits, with reps/merch, build customer relationships, in field coaching
  • Effective management of:
    • Operations 
    • Sales Issues 
    • Customers 
    • All feedback from regions 
    • Administration 
    • Leave
    • Disciplinary
  • Route and sales tool optimization
    • Calls per day/week by segment/customer
    • Efficient route planning 
    • Usage of sales tool, reporting, call compliance, task management 
  • Business Development, utilize data to proactively identify opportunities, weekly KPI review 
  • Customer relationships, Inspire and equip the sales team to deliver on KPI’s
  • Agreed sales drivers execution by channel/segment/customer/region 
  • Play an integral role on IAP planning and owns execution thereof for the off trade
    • KPI development 
    • Cycle planning and execution brand/customer/month 
    • Implement and track execution
    • Gap analysis plus action plan
  • Sales Target, daily/weekly/by re, feed numbers into monthly/quarterly S&OP bottom up
  • People Management, take full responsibility of 3rd party Sales & Merch
    • Performance 
    • Development 
    • Coaching on the job in the field
    • Keep the motivated and agile with opportunistic mind set
  • Be the voice of the Off Trade
    • Define execution standards of sales drivers.
    • Support CM team to deliver on brilliant execution of trade activation
    • Opportunity identification by brand/outlet
    • Develop relevant category layout by segment/group for implementation by 3rd party sales/merch

Skills and Experience

The Skills & Experience needed to create your legacy
  • MBA / Business graduate
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years sales experience in FMCG or Alcohol and Beverage industry
  • Awareness of different trade channels; ability to manage trade structure and complexity
  • Excellent written and spoken communication in English
