To contribute to the building of procurement policy and process, sourcing strategies for different categories in order to maximize the quality and value that Bacardi procurement is delivering to our businesses.

Ensure efficient implementation of the category and sourcing strategies in the end markets within the Americas Region in close collaboration with the Global Procurement team and Regional business partners.

North America Procurement Manager, POSM & VAPS

With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:
  • Own the category spend for Point Of Sales Materials (POSM); Value Added Packs (VAPs) and Secondary packaging items for the North American (NAM) region (total estimated annual spend managed of $50-70M)
  • Deliver the elements of the Global Category strategy in the allocated markets as well as identify new cost optimization opportunities. 
  • Manage the relationship with various stakeholders (Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Packaging Development) to integrate Procurement category plans to business requirements.
  • Business Engagement. Manage the needs and expectations of the business to drive satisfaction while ensuring compliance to procurement standards and alignment with procurement strategies and policies. 
  • Lead on category negotiations with suppliers to ensure saving targets are achieved, and value for money and efficiencies are secured for the business. 
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Lead interactions with critical suppliers including relationship building, data review and analysis, performance management, and reliability improvement. 
  • Conduct market analysis, run tender processes, use data analysis, and conduct negotiations with effective use of technology required across the function. 
  • Collect and analyze spend and market data in support of procurement strategies and proactively use that to identify and implement new opportunities. 
  • Build and maintain category knowledge of the supply market and trends in the assigned category of spend 
  • ESG. Helps to drive Bacardi ESG targets and ensure Bacardi external partners adhere to them.  
  • Lead the North America (NAM) VAPS and Secondary packaging tender to identify and drive design to value analysis (sustainability, cost, etc.) opportunities. This includes all sub-activities required to prepare and launch the tender up to the final supplier’s selection and contracting; in collaboration with key stakeholders including Operations, Marketing, and Global Procurement team. 
  • Develop an appropriate supplier’s portfolio considering business needs with regards to service to markets, industrial constraints, innovation needs, contingency requirements, sustainability, and total cost of ownership. 

Skills and Experience

The Skills & Experience needed to create your legacy
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a procurement role, preferably in a multinational environment in a complex matrix structure. /Cross-functional experiences are also valued.
  • Analytical skills to perform category analysis in support of sourcing strategy development 
  • Excellent negotiations and relationship management skills
  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills are required
  • Demonstrated project management and leadership experience in leading cross-functional/international projects 
  • Great presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to influence and understand differing needs of stakeholders 
  • Proficiency in core Procurement skills (e.g. Supplier Management and Performance, Supply Market Analysis, Cost Modelling, Category Management)
  • Experience in packaging categories and sustainability/ESG targets 
  • Work experience in Marketing/Commercial function or marketing agency 
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English & Spanish; Portuguese would be an asset.
  • Technical skills: SAP, BI
