About the role

Your Opportunity

This is an amazing opportunity to be part of the South Africa commercial team as Regional Team Leader for the Sales Representative team in the On Trade. Your principal role will be to build brand legacy and help in building and developing business in the market.

About You 

As the Regional Team Leader, you will be managing sales for Bacardi portfolio in the market. You will play a key role in building brand equity by leading and motivating the external distributors team. You will be responsible for optimizing best execution of local marketing mix in line with the brands’ global strategies. 

Responsibilities

With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:

Accelerate market growth and build team confidence.
Responsible for Regional Key Account Management, delivering sales and activation targets for designated region
Motivate, support and lead the Sales Representatives team in trade including geographies: Rosebank,Sandton, Parkhurst, Bryanston, Randburg, Waterfall and Fourways
Build strong, mutually beneficial relationships with On Trade Customers for the designated region
Monitor and report competition in the market
Ensure optimum distribution & visibility of our brands.
Execute trade initiatives to ensure that all volume and activation targets are achieved 
Negotiate, implement, and manage pouring and activity rights for strategic on trade customers
Implement integrated activity plans for designated region
Identify opportunities to maximise portfolio growth
Hold accountability for building Bacardi brand equity and optimize best in class execution of local marketing mix in line with the brands’ global strategies
Have a hands-on approach and support your manager in in your region on operational marketing and commercial activity
Providing feedback on the market growth and its potential opportunities
Drive Belonging at Bacardi through team engagement and capability management
Own premiumization in trade and regional GP percentage management
Report on individual sales and activity targets with the sales team
Oversee the activities and performance of the sales team
Coordinate with marketing to implement and report on best practice
Be an advocate of Joint Business Planning


Management Information Systems (MIS) and Reporting

Assist building budget preparations and revisions as requested
Daily team Call Rate and activity reporting
Regional Key Account Measurement & Evaluation (M&E via platform SONAR)
Budget tracking and status
Stock deals, Material Stock Request (MSR) approvals and reporting
Market / Competitor research & analysis
Monthly Sales Analysis and Marketing reporting (Integrated Activity Planning - IAP, best practice, ROI and Activity Implementation)

Skills and Experience

The Skills & Experience needed to create your legacy

Degree graduate (advantageous but not essential) preferably in business or commerce
Minimum of 3 years’ experience with a proven track record in sales and  the spirits or beverages sector are required
Supervisory management experience of 1+ years leading a team of two or more Sales Representatives or equivalent function
Knowledge of premiumization within the ontrade is essential
Insights to the local market are advantageous
Good digital capabilities to track & access data
Strong commercial skills with high numerical analytical skills for finance management and strategy development from insights
Proficiency in MS Office and fluency in the English language
