About the role
Responsibilities
- Be the point of contact for operations/trade compliance in Mexico and the rest of the LAC region.
- Management of the current trade systems.
- Assessment of the IMMEX and VAT/IEPS certification programs and ensure fully compliance.
- Managing the tax stamps by requesting and reporting the tax stamps to the tax authorities (SAT).
- Ensure the monthly and annual compliance of the INEGI obligations.
- Understand, map, implement improvements and audit the import and export processes, included but not limited, traceability of imports’ flows in SAP, imports payments, imports docs audit (valuation, customs tariff classification, origin), imports clearance.
- Assessment of current broker management processes and lead the implementation of processes that should enable a better customs management of the broker with the intend to monitor, implement KPIs and apply the internal broker policy.
- Support the business by creating any customs report or lead Customs external requirements as needed.
- Support the Master Data review of information – process for feeding and updating: IPC (commodity code, country of origin, HTS classification, alcohol degree).
- Customs Bonded warehouse supervision (ALVAMEX supervision).
- Trade and customs Health Check review for the LAC countries as needed.

Skills and Experience
- Strong IMMEX and VAT/IEPS certification knowledge.
- Strong knowledge in Imports/Exports processes and compliance including.
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
- Previous experience in SAP.
- Detail oriented with the ability to capture information in a clear, concise manner and can adapt information for various audiences.
- Ability to manage aggressive timeliness and deliverables and managing stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills.
- University degree in Customs or/and Business Administration with 4+ years’ experience in trade/customs.
- Fluent in English (Preferable)
- Proficiency with the MS Office Suite (particularly MS Excel) and MS SharePoint
