About the role

The Operations Development Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing organizational development processes to increase operational performance and people development.  The incumbent develops, participates in design, validates, and implements all those local and global strategies that serve as a guide to improve quality, productivity and efficiency and thus contribute effectively to reach our business goals through the Bacardi Operating System (BOS), Continuous Improvement Projects and the effective implementation of a Lean Manufacturing Culture.  The incumbent must have experience in manufacturing operations, including but not limited to lean manufacturing, process excellence, financial acumen, production forecast, Safety Culture, among others.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, implement, and evaluate processes, projects, and programs (local and global) related to the operations and resources development included on the BOS and Lean Curriculum
  • Define the operational manufacturing needs and support business initiatives aimed to increase organizational performance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for the analysis and implementation of training standards to ensure that talent development is aligned to the skills and competencies needed to strengthen the future organization
  • Measure development programs to ensure that we are meeting the Company’s standards
  • Measure and communicate performance indicators (KPIs) of the organization to ensure process efficiency
  • Support and coach employees in all processes of continuous improvement to meet and/or exceed consumer requirements
  • Responsible for the implementation and measurement of each pillar of the BOS.  Help to define and show achievable plan for each BOS Pillar
  • Active participation in all continuous improvement activities that contributes to strengthen the internal work environment
  • Oversees continuous improvement projects, ensuring that client’s needs and expectations are met, reviewing progress and monitoring cost
  • Drive rigorous metrics related to the KPI to evaluate performance and drive reduction in variability/defects in critical business operations
  • Build relationships with other resources to support, identify, review, prioritize and execute key improvement opportunities/projects to drive results
  • Ensure talent capabilities with a solid training plan based on local and global business needs
  • Adhere to requirements under SQS’s management system and Bacardi’s Operating System (BOS) to ensure continual improvement
  • Reinforce and strengthen the SQS culture at every opportunity and promote correct SQS behaviors through personal example

Skills and Experience

  • Degree qualified in Engineering or Business/Operations (BS in Industrial/Systems Engineering strongly preferred).  Additionally, an MBA would be beneficial
  • 3-5 years experience in Project Management required
  • Demonstrated success implementing and leading organizational change within Operations
  • Leadership experience in Lean and advanced manufacturing methodologies across Production, Processing, Cost Management (e.g., Zero-based Budget), and Continuous Improvement
  • In-depth Knowledge of leading-edge supply chain and production methodologies, with the ability to align / engage the manufacturing operations team to deploy best practice across E2E processes
  • Proven experience in Training and Development
  • Outstanding communicator at all levels ideally within Global Matrix Organization
