About the role

YOUR OPPORTUNITY
The Payroll Specialist is part of the Payroll team in Jacksonville, Florida. This role is responsible for processing company payrolls and related benefits such as savings plan and pension plan programs.  
The cycle includes from collecting daily employee time worked to issuance of a payroll check and disposition of all taxes and deductions.

ABOUT YOU
You have a customer service mindset and are passionate about helping our Primos. In addition to having multi-state payroll experience, you understand compliance as it relates to payroll (FLSA, FICA, FUTA, etc.). 
This role requires acute attention to detail, so accuracy is key. You also have an aptitude for working with data and are able to provide analysis when needed.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES - WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART YOUR KEY FOCUS WILL BE
  • Responsible for the processing of the weekly plant payroll, semi-monthly administrative payrolls for all US based Bacardi companies.
  • Responsible for the collection, computation, and reconciliation of all times worked by all employees in payroll groups.
  • Monitor, reconcile and oversee all payroll earnings and deduction codes.
  • Monitors proper execution of child support, levy's and / or garnishment to employee's earnings.
  • Perform necessary account analysis after each month-end closing as needed.
  • Safeguard various reports generated by payroll provider and internal reports.
  • Monitors and tracks recording of employee vacation and personal leave time allowed and taken.
  • Generates payroll JV/General Ledger interface.
  • Safeguards various reports generated by payroll provider and internal reports.
  • Responsible for the accurate processing of approximately 3400 payroll payments a month.

Skills and Experience

SKILLS - THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY
  • Minimum five years of payroll processing experience and working knowledge of payroll best practices
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality 
  • Excellent analytical skills, problem solving and attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills, including experience with payroll software and proficiency in Excel
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present in front of groups
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience and maturity to work on own without supervision

PERSONAL QUALITIES – SHARE OUR FOUNDER’S PASSION AND ENTREPRENEURIAL FLAIR
  • Has high ownership, a sense of urgency and personal presence
  • Degree in accounting or finance, and/or professional payroll certification is preferred (FPC or CPP)
  • Fluent command in English. Ability to communicate in additional languages is a plus.
