About the role


The Whisky and Gin category, with emblematic brands such as DEWAR’S®, Aberfeldy and BOMBAY SAPPHIRE®, is one of the most dynamic and innovative portfolios for Bacardi. It is also a very competitive market with strong Packaging innovation. 
The Project Manager will be responsible for being the key point of contact for one of our most complex brand portfolios and all innovation and change request projects for that brand, and in addition will also manage other business critical development  projects such as Business Continuity (BCP), Value Creation and Sustainability. 


The ideal candidate will be an experienced project manager capable of managing a highly complex pipeline of activity, have demonstrated completion of successful complex innovations to market.  This person will be an expert in project management, will embrace execution with excellence, and have passion and strong ownership to deliver projects.  
The ideal candidate will work closely with the Global Brand and Local Marketing teams, alongside coordinating the UK OC multifunctional project team to ensure flawless delivery and excellence in project management from ideation to market launch. 
This person will also work closely with the Global Brand to understand and compile a pipeline of innovation and will coordinate monthly UK OC Leadership and Global Brand innovation reviews.  
This person will also contribute their knowledge and experience in sharing best practices with the UK OC PM team and our Global team, striving for continuous improvement and streamlining of processes. 
It is advantageous for this person to also have experience of delivering luxury, super premium projects, and proven track record  of value creation and move to more sustainable packs. 



Project Manage UK OC Initiatives:
  • Develop strong relationships with Global Brand team and local marketing teams to charter and lead initiatives, as well as extracting and having visibility of future innovation plans,  and building a clear pipeline.   Ability to influence brand / market approaches, and not only from an operations perspective. 
  • Drive clarity on initiative success criteria and ensure those are met at the respective decision gate.
  • Support and drive informed business decision making through strong technical mastery, well formed risk analysis and fact based cost knowledge (clear understanding of COGS structures and project financial success criteria, P & L). 
  • Excellence in project execution ensuring that Global best practices are leveraged and applied whilst enabling speed to market.  Includes strong budget tracking, and effective building and updating project critical path schedules. 
  • Promote strong team work with the multi-functional OC operations teams to ensure robust designs made at best value and ensure successful and seamless delivery of projects. 
  • Work closely with central function resources and in other OC’s based resources to ensure that ideas, supplier relationships and capabilities are leveraged to their optimum. 
  • Ensure alignment with internal multi-functional project team and Global Operations team before decision gates are reviewed.
  • Lead holistic risk assessment process for initiatives and drive the right business decisions. 
  • Escalate quickly in the right way with the right forum and based on risk identified. 
  • In addition to ownership of a dedicated brand category, this person will take strong ownership and lead the coordination of business critical projects such as Business Continuity (BCP), Value Creation and Sustainability.

Business Understanding:
  • Strong connection with marketing and markets to develop a strong understanding of business needs.  Effectively share these within the OC.
  • Constructive integration of OC constraints / requirements with markets / marketing 
  • Effective sharing for OC awareness brand pipeline of activity. 

  • Promote strong collaboration in project teams. 
  • Proactively prepare key milestones, and communications for the OC, GOPS and business.
  • Expert of Bacardi Innovation process and tool and effective coaching / training tp project team members
  • Continuous Improvement of Best Practices for Project Management:
  • Effective close out project reviews, summarising key learnings and improvements required. 
  • Key contributor / effective sharing on of key learnings, improvement plans from project experience to UK OC team, other OC teams and with Global Best Practices Project Manager.

Skills and Experience


  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economy, Supply Chain or Engineering. 

  • Preferable previous experience in a Project Manager role with at least  2yrs experience in project management. 
  • Experience executing successful key innovation’s inc. luxury packaging, but also value creation and sustainable packaging change projects.  
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with Global Brand, Local Market and all cross functional networks. 
  • Affinity and interest to work within different business and diverse cultures.  
  • Lead and influence strong multi-functional teams to deliver with excellence. 
  • Mobility – willing to travel up to 10% if required. 

Functional Skills:
  • Strong leadership and capable to manage and drive a high volume / highly complex portfolio of projects.
  • Excellent project management skills and knowledge of stage gate processes.
  • Excellent communication, written and oral skills.  English business proficient. 
  • Capable to work and influence in a highly changing environment.  
  • Using Founder’s mentality to challenge the brand and the Operating Centre to ensure maximum value for Bacardi

  • Business savvy, experienced with understanding consumer and customer’s needs.  Understanding of Bacardi brands, what they stand for and how Bacardi is organized. 
  • Innovative, and creative with an interest in sustainability. 
  • Capability to work in a seamless team, cross-functionally and across regions & willingness to share best practices, project learnings. 
  • Overall good collaborator, and highly organized.
