About the role

Your Opportunity

The Project Specialist role provides critical support to capital projects at Louisville Distilling Company. The role is responsible for coordinating onsite project activities and vendors, as well as ensuring adherence to all applicable EHS policies. 

Responsibilities

With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:
  • Schedule and coordinate with external vendors all necessary construction activities required to support project milestones and timeline
  • Perform contractor onboarding for new vendors
  • Provide support at site construction meetings
  • Provide site support to contractor Safety Representative, following LDC Safety and Environmental guidelines, and by conducting safety observations.  
  • Ensure that work is accomplished in an environmentally sound manner using safe work practices in accordance with Federal, State and Local applicable requirements and also LDC Contractor’s Policies.
  • Oversees security aspects at Construction Site.  (e.g., access control, loss prevention, etc.)
  • Help ensure work is performed per plans and specifications via coordination with the Project Engineer and all project stakeholders.
  • Provide financial support for projects, including issuing Purchase Orders and utilizing Cost Control tools to ensure accurate tracking and adherence to project budget 
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable Safety, Quality, and regulatory considerations and Bacardi’s SQS Codes of Practice/Lifesaving Rules
  • Provide support to Management of Change process for site 
  • Help coordinate project turnover activities with commissioning teams and/or end-users appropriately.
  • Be available to work any shift and/or overtime as required

Minimum Education:
  • Associates degree or working towards Engineering or Science Major (B.S. preferred) 
Minimum Experience:
  • 1-3 years of experience in a Project Coordinator or Construction Safety role
Necessary Skills/Responsibilities
  • Proven experience of Construction Safety requirements
  • Ability to conduct Safety Observations and inspections related to spill prevention and pollution prevention control (e.g., SWPPP, etc.)
  • Knowledge of materials, construction methods, and equipment used in major construction projects is highly desired
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret construction plans, contract provisions, and specifications
  • Must have the ability to prepare or review reports, good communicative ability and the ability to instruct other employees in proper work methods
  • Must possess and exhibit strong ability to work cohesively with others to accomplish project objectives
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and follow-up skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Self-motivated and possess ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Must possess strong mathematical, reading, and comprehension skills
  • Proficient personal computer and software skills
Preferred skills:
  • Team training facilitation
  • Formal OSHA training
  • Knowledge and application of regulatory EHS standards and guidelines
Machines, Tools, Equipment, Work Aids:
  • General office equipment, supplies, personal computer, computer software, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, SAP, reference materials regarding project management, engineering standards, and safety, health, and environmental issues
Environmental Conditions:
  • Work is performed in temperature-controlled environment and in a production facility where dust, fumes, heat, cold, noise, and vibration exist; and an extensive amount of time is spent outdoors in a construction environment where seasonal elements and weather elements exist.
