About the role

Your Opportunity

The Quality Engineer is a key role within the quality assurance team, based at JDSL, in delivering the Quality strategy. The role is the main interface between the UK operations and material suppliers to ensure the standard of dry goods meets our production requirements. In addition the quality engineer is a significant contributor to new product development confirming materials and design are fit for purpose from risk assessment to trialing and commissioning of finished products.

The role requires the job holder to be structured with an organized approach to day to day working life i.e. project management.  Attention to detail is fundamental along with a drive to challenge status quo whilst developing new products or working on continuous improvement of existing components.  All of the aforementioned needs to be focused on delivering results through successful completion of Projects and/or CI Plans.

The Quality Engineer needs to build a strong working relationship with key material suppliers to secure a high standard of delivered components whilst driving continuous improvement in areas that will be a joint benefit to JDSL and the supplier base.

In addition to the above the job holder is also required to actively support the following areas:
  • Consumer Complaint Management
  • HACCP/ Food Safety
  • ISO Quality Management System / Internal Audit

Responsibilities

With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:
  • Develop suppliers through non conformance management and continuous improvement.
  • Develop external manufacturing resources
  • Develop components to improve manufacturing efficiency 
  • New product introduction

Skills and Experience

The Skills & Experience needed to create your legacy
  • 5+ year experience either within a quality engineering or quality operations role
  • FMCG, HACCP and ISO preferably with bottling experience.
  • IT literate – with high skill level in excel spreadsheets, minitab software and report writing.
  • 6 Sigma / Continuous Improvement
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross functional/matrix organization.
  • Self motivated with a strong drive to deliver results.
  • Mobile (driving license)
