About the role
YOUR OPPORTUNITY
In this position, you will support the plant with liquid and packaging analysis, IMS, and support safety operations as directed. This Role will primarily be expected to work a weekend shift (tentatively Thursday-Sunday; 10-hour shifts). This Role will, at times, include weekday support across shifts, and holiday shifts based on demand. This will allow you to advance your skills and provide significant value to the company as a resource for the Quality team.
The candidate will provide analysis on both liquid and packaging daily. This may include but is not limited to distillations, wet chemistry, GC/HPLC/UPLC methods, incoming material inspections, finished product auditing and IMS activities. Troubleshooting, analytical instrument maintenance, performing root cause analysis, will also be crucial to this role. Implementing solutions and preventing reoccurrence will be significant measure of success.
You will be a resource to the Operators and Maintenance Technicians. Members of the Supervisor/Management team may consult with you on how to address and rectify any Quality issues.
This job will be demanding and require multitasking daily. Being flexible, detail-oriented, organized, ethical, ability to think independently, focused, motivated, having a professional demeanor, autonomous, and having excellent written and verbal communication skills are key attributes needed to meet expectations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and precise records, to include but not limited to instrument calibration, laboratory data, maintenance activities, SQS programs, and laboratory inventory.
- Conduct various types of analysis on product (water, raw materials, in process liquid, finished liquid, and/or finished package)
- Perform audits on finished goods and incoming raw materials.
- Conduct various types of analytical instrumentation runs, data interpretation, professional reports, and maintenance activities such as Gas and Liquid Chromatography.
- Operate packaging material equipment such as bore profiler and vacuum chamber.
- Support and Promote ISO, GMP, HACCP, PST/RCA, and 5S
- Write/Review procedures and train other personnel on new techniques.
- Perform independent math and some statistical calculations for projects, records, and reports.
- Provide recommendations based on conclusions determined from analysis performed in the laboratory.
- Set up sensory and be a member of the tasting panel.
- Provide analytical assistance with Research and Development projects.
- Maintain raw material and finished product retain systems.
- Identify and inform management of compliance issues, SQS risks and improvement opportunities through regular audits.
- Maintain required paperwork to comply with LDC standards.
- Provide quality support to all areas of production.
- Support, Promote, and Perform Safety Observations.
- Assist Quality Manager with projects and special assignments as directed.
- A working understanding of good general laboratory skills and safety practices.
- Hands-on experience with GC/HPLC/UPLC instrumentation is preferred.
- Quality Assurance experience.
- HACCP, GMP, ISO, CAPA, and LIMS knowledge/experience preferred.

- Personal protective equipment will be provided.
- Employee must be willing to wear protective glasses, high-visibility vests, gloves, back support, hearing protection, safety toed shoes, and other common PPE including hair covering, as necessary.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Chemistry/Biology preferred or equivalent experience.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess reading & comprehension, writing skills, mathematical skills, and ability to follow directions and complete recordkeeping as needed.
- Must exhibit good communication, organization skills, and be detail oriented.
- Must demonstrate dependability and timeliness.
- Must be self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment.
- Must possess strong problem solving and trouble-shooting skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
