About the role

Bacardi Global Service Center is looking for high performing individuals who are success driven and interested in a career at Bacardi. The accounting specialist/professional position is a highly competitive role structured to strengthen accounting and finance competencies. You will gain experience managing Fixed Assets processes while also gaining exposure to the entire R2R organization, Month End Close & Global organizations. This role provides support and training needed to develop a well-rounded accounting and finance skillset, which will be the foundation for advancing your career Bacardi. 

The BGSC is a global business operation supported by the Bacardi executive and senior leaders throughout the organization. 

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Perform transactional and analytical level tasks related to Fixed Assets team within the Bacardi Global Services Center.
  • Participate in the execution of the following tasks:
  • Fixed Assets master data creation (WBS´s) and maintenance
  • Fixed Assets capitalizations, additions, disposals and transfers
  • Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation (BBSR)
  • Calculation, review and posting of accounting journal entries
  • Development and issuance of financial reports
  • Financial data reporting
  • Month end processes including checks and running depreciation
  • SOX control owner related to Fixed Assets processes
  • Be able to respond and support auditor´s requests
  • Support implementation of new projects related to Fixed Assets
  • Leasing processes
  • Communicate effectively with internal Bacardi clients as necessary to ensure that work is properly delivered.
  • Consistently meet or exceed Service Level Agreements pertaining to Fixed Assets accounting processes.
  • Identify and execute on potential process improvements.
  • Lead demanding projects for Fixed Assets team, such as Leasing, Forging the Future initiatives, Fiscal Year End coordination, audits, etc.
  • Develop capability and technical mastery within the team.

  • Month end close compliance
  • Balance Sheet accounts reconciliations (green accounts and quality execution)
  • Accounts troubleshooting
  • Reports generation
  • Projects delivered on time and with excellence
  • SLA compliance over tickets
  • Audit requests and SOX delivered on time and with quality
  • Number of entries posted late and escalations

Critical experiences for success

To be successful in this role you will have / be: 
  • Previous experience in Accounting roles (Fixed Assets desired but not mandatory). 
  • Knowledge of SAP environment.
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage the time efficiently.
  • Ability to push creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing company practices and mindsets. 
  • Ability to create capability in other members of the team, in a way that the technical mastery can be transmitted to them.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to capture information in a clear, concise manner and can adapt information for various audiences.
  • Proactive individual that can collaborate and build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Works well in a team environment and is a self-starter who requires minimal direction and support. 
  • Knowledge of standard business practices and professionalism in a customer service environment. 
  • Advanced knowledge MS Office (outlook, excel, word, PowerPoint). 
  • English 90% (oral and written).
The following experiences are preferred: 
  • Experience in the Spirits and/or FMCG industry is a distinct advantage 
  • Solid knowledge of Bacardi Business Partner/Shared Services/Centre of Expertise 
  • Experience in Shared Services environment preferred 
  • Foreign language skills (French, Portuguese) preferred 

Relevant education: 
  • University degree in Accounting/Business/Finance or related discipline.
  • Ability to communicate in English. Advance speaking is a must since the market contact is a daily task.
