About the role

Your Opportunity

As an SAP & digital developer, you will have to liase with typical SAP projects built using ABAP in all its variations and also with new web technologies, such as oData, UI5 and the Fiori paradigm.
You will work in the on-premise systems but also the SAP Cloud Platform tenant, using the various technologies existing at any moment: HANA XS, ABAP on cloud…

You will also have to work with low code platforms, such as Microsoft Power Apps or Outsystems.

You will be accountable, and sometimes responsible of building, maintaining and eventually scaling Bacardi’s projects for SAPGUI and web, for internal and external consumption, as well as you will participate in evaluating new platforms and technologies which may be applicable to our development strategy, either in the SAP space or completely out of it.

The role will be required to work with teams from many other technologies, backend developers of multiple disciplines, graphic designers… This requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You will work in a fast changing and growing environment, working with different technologies and teams, taking you to the edge but also improving your skills exponentially: ABAP, oData, HML5, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML, CSS… 

In this position, you will typically report to a Manager, IT Programs in the development disciplines.


With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:
  • Participate in on-going and new projects which will need any of the following technologies: ABAP (mandatory), UI5, HTML5, Fiori paradigm, JavaScript, Java, CSS, Springboot,… where you have to write code to create from scratch or enhance existing applications.
  • Write documentation! Documentation is critical for further maintenance and support, hence you will be responsible of maintaining it up to date.
  • Optimize and performance improvement 
  • Identify and troubleshoot various issues and coding problems
  • Investigate and evaluate new technologies that may be useful for the company digital strategy, such as zero code/low code platforms (e.g. Microsoft PowerApps)
  • Create prototypes, mockups, and staging sites for review and feedback
  • Maintain updated knowledge of the development industry and any advancements in technology
  • Meet tight deadlines as required

Skills and Experience

The Skills & Experience needed to create your legacy
  • 2-4+ years of experience in SAP ABAP projects, ideally having participated in at least 1 full SAP implementation project
  • 1-3+ years of experience in SAP UI5/Fiori projects, both on-premise and cloud based.
  • Good and demonstrable knowledge SAP ABAP: ABAP OO, SapScript, Smartforms, oData
  • Understanding of the entire web development process, frontend and backend, and the differences of it against the classic SAPGUI development model.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate at the same time with regular SAP functional teams and with designers, web developers, and other relevant staff members or clients
  • Willingness to troubleshoot and solve complex problems
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing instructions and requirements
  • Able to initiate, think ahead, plan but also anticipate risks
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity, frequent change or unpredictability
  • Be comfortable working in a multicultural global organization
  • Proficiency in English language skills
The following experiences are recommended:
  • Fluent in another language than English
  • Exposure to the typical DevOps tools: Jira, Git, Confluence, Jenkins, SonarQube…
  • Ability to interpret and implement web designs
  • Experience/exposure to SAP Hybris (aka C/4 Hana)
  • Experience/exposure to Java Spring Framework
  • Experience/exposure to low-code platforms
  • Familiar/exposed to common design tools like Sketch, Figma, Abstract or Zeplin
  • Knowledge of accessibility and assistive technology such as screen readers, keyboard navigation etc.
