About the role
Responsibilities
- Work within a cross functional team of business and data analysts, leadership team, and technical experts to design reports, dashboards, story boards and visual representation of both internal and external datasets
- Develop and establish data visualization standards across multiple visualization tools and technologies and explore new technologies to periodically raise those standards
- Design and develop automated dashboards from various data sources to closely monitor business KPIs, uncover industry trends and insights to optimize spending and measure ROI
- Train end users and teams in various parts of the world to effectively use data visualizations and reporting tools and also customize reports based on the functional, local needs of the users
- Write, review, and approve visualization components to ensure alignment with architectural standards
- Recommend and follow standards for all technical areas related to report development, automation, and data visualization
- Liaise with all relevant stakeholders to ensure and align final solution design before deployment
- Engage in the design of visual materials for financial, commercial, marketing and/or other leadership presentations
Skills and Experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work with large amounts of information to see “bigger picture”
- Passion, drive and confidence to work within technical and business teams in a collaborative, creative way
- Hands-on experience with development using data analysis and visualization tools – Power BI (would be preferred), SAP BI, Tableau, Excel, R, Python etc.
- Extensive experience in developing intuitive and attractive, static and interactive data visualizations using both internal company datasets and external datasets
- Knowledge of graphics and visualization tools such as Adobe CS 5 Suite incl. Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Flash etc
- Familiarity with web standards-based HTML, CSS and interactive tools such as JQuery or JavaScript-based code libraries
- Relevant and demonstrable experience in a similar role, with minimum 8-10 years of experience
- Good understanding of database design, modelling for data warehouse, scripting (PL/SQL, stored procedure etc.)
- International background, used to work in distributed environments, with in-sourced and outsourced models
- Degree in Maths,Computer Science, or similar field
- Domain Experience - CPG/ Alco-Bev a big plus
- Business and data analysis – ability to understand the business needs and translate into sustainable technology design and models – applies knowledge of the technical domain to develop / recommend data visualization approach/standards
- Communications for results – listens attentively and expresses technical concepts, ideas, and conclusions orally and in writing – ability to build and deliver presentations to all levels and effectively explain complex issues and concepts in simple, understandable language
- Business and technical acumen – proactively seeks information on the direction, goals and industry competitive environment to determine how the function can add value to the organization – makes decisions and recommendations clearly linked to long term strategy / goals, reflecting an awareness of internal / external dynamics
