About the role


Coordinate, maintain and control an accounting system that properly reflects the financial position of the company. Business partner in the development and implementation of financial strategies for Supply Chain at Bacardi Puerto Rico

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of standards costs for the fiscal year.
  • Support budget and latest forecast (LE) processes.
  • Evaluate company’s fiscal position and generate financial and operational reports at local, regional, and global levels (ex. business review, transfer price, trading analysis & financial statements).
  • Support month-end closing process, generate reports and analyze results to ensure financial statements are accurate, reconcile and reflect true picture of the business performance.
  • Responsible for accurate inventory valuation: capitalization of variances, transactions in accounting systems, actual cost valuation, and GL reconciliation.
  • Advise and assist other Bacardi sites in bulk accounting matters (STDs, variances, accounting, etc).
  • Support preparation of the long-term strategic plan balancing short-term goals with long-term strategic objectives making certain the operations have the necessary resources to deliver its annual target, continuous improvement projects and investment targets.
  • Able to translate numbers, prepare and present a clear business story. 
  • Support Zero Based Budgeting (ZBB), a driver-based cost management process, to ensure the operation has the right level of resources to be competitive, enabling transparent business decisions and trade-offs on resource allocation and maximizing cost efficiency. 
  • Leverage the company’s shared services for non-added value activities.
  • Follow, support, and ensure execution of Bacardi’s internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Apply root cause analysis and develop financial models bases on the analysis to support organizational decision making.
  • Partner / collaborate with other departments to enhance performance, foster strategic enablers, and develop solutions to achieve company’s objectives.
  • Make educated business decisions anticipating outcomes and see logical consequences while navigating risks and uncertainty.  Find solutions to pressing issues in a timely matter.
  • Communicate in a clear and concise manner while building a good rapport with Primos across all levels. 
  • Other tasks required for the position such as participate in Finance, Operations and Supply Chain projects. 
  • Comply with the norms and procedures of Environmental, Heath, Security, Quality and Policies established by the company. 

Skills and Experience

Education
  • Business Administration with concentration in Finance or Accounting (R)
Experience
  • 5+ years: Related/similar position in Manufacturing or Auditing Firm (R)

Licenses / Certifications / Knowledge:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) / Master’s in Finance or Accounting is a plus

Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Familiarity in electronic systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, Oracle, others)
  • Excellent skills in supervision and management
  • Analytical, strategic, and planning skills
  • Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements.
  • Ability to establish priorities and time management skills.
  • Effective use of the Internet and e-mail
