About the role

Your Opportunity

The Sr. Finance Manager – Business Performance and Commercial Insights position is responsible for clear and smart communication and analysis of business results and commercial/sales business partnering for Canada.

The role will constantly focus on fully understanding business drivers underlying financial results, while also relentlessly seeking to uncover value creating business insights. The role will also require you to continuously challenge the status quo and expand the definition of a finance business partner. The role is located in Toronto, Ontario and reports to the Finance Director – Canada. It also has frequent interactions with the North American finance team located in Miami, Florida. This position also has a direct report, a Senior Financial Analyst. 

The candidate must possess strong communication, collaboration, and entrepreneurial skills and must demonstrate the ability to work independently and cross-functionally at many levels within Bacardi. 


With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:
  • Own the preparation of high-quality analysis, commentaries, and presentations to clearly explain Canadian business performance to Senior Management stakeholders
  • Lead the Risk & Opps and Forecast process for Canada
  • Build a portfolio of recurring analytical processes and deliverables (i.e. trend depletion) aimed at: 
    • Identifying business risks and opportunities 
    • Identifying value-creating business insights 
  • Lead the Canadian Budgeting process and coordinate target setting with Canadian Leadership Team, US Finance team and Southern Glazers sales team
  • Manage scenario planning on long term, look how trends will impact our P&L in the years to come
  • Support sales leaders in the delivery of Regional P&Ls
  • Provide value-adding Volume/Price/Mix and Gross Margin Variance analysis
  • Be an effective finance business partner to the On-Premise team in Canada
  • Support the implementation of Anaplan into Canada Finance ways of working 
  • Liaise with the North American Operations/Supply Chain team to investigate COGS variances, opportunities, and inventory management
  • Analyze source of growth for the future, follow up of competitors innovations and how it will impact the industry
  • Support North American finance team in the execution of varied portfolio of projects aimed at improving business performance and creating value for the North America Region 
  • Be the finance point of contact for the Southern Glazers sales team in Canada

Skills and Experience

The Skills & Experience needed to create your legacy
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Finance FP&A or Commercial business partnering role, preferably within the consumer packaged goods and/or alcohol industry
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced, continuously changing and deadline driven environment
  • Capable of communicating what is complex in simple terms
  • Ability to work effectively and achieve results in a matrix organization
  • Ability to work in a group environment and independently
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills a must
  • Knowledge of SAP, Cognos / TM1, Anaplan and/or Power BI is an asset 
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Educational Requirements
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. MBA and/or an accounting designation is a must
