About the role

Due to an internal transfer, we have an exciting opportunity to join the Bacardi Finance team!

The role offers great variety and diversity in a financial accounting capacity, with core focus areas including:
  • Full ownership of statutory financial and taxation compliance requirements for the business  
  • Reporting to key Bacardi local, regional and global stakeholders 
  • Key contact and liaison with internal and external tax partners and auditors 
  • Provide effective business partnering to promote strong corporate governance culture and drive tax compliance across the wider business

Responsibilities

For those of you desperate to know all the fun things you'd be responsible for:

Drive for Results – Statutory Requirements
  • Manage local statutory accounting & month end procedures, inc. monthly journals, support & balance sheets.
  • Drive for improvements across cashflow, working capital and daily sales outstanding
  • Review monthly payroll journal processing and ensure accurate provision of employee benefits.
  • Produce insightful commentary for monthly and quarterly upstream reporting on key variances for global stakeholders.
  • Preparation and review of key month end KPIs on working capital with action plans for future improvement.
  • Take ownership of fixed asset register and advise the wider business on CAPEX request.
  • Technical accounting guidance and ensuring compliance to accounting standards, including intimate understanding and working knowledge on IFRS15 and IFRS16.
  • Preparation and on time lodgement of multiple tax obligations for Australia and New Zealand including weekly excise returns, monthly BAS’s lodgement state payroll tax including annual reconciliation.
  • Partner with external stakeholders and take full ownership of the end-to-end process on preparation, review and lodgement on Corporate Income Tax Returns and FBT Return for Australia and New Zealand.
  • Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate the preparation and review of appropriate annual statutory margin, transfer pricing documentation and CBC local file lodgement
  • Lead the local implementation, testing and risk mitigation procedures for SOX controls within the finance team.
  • Oversee order-to-cash collections process including release of orders, on cash collections, maintenance of customer credit and insurance limits as well as ownership and reporting on accounts receivables KPI’s

Excellence in Execution - Financials and Audit
  • Lead the preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with prescribed accounting standards.
  • Own the external audit engagement and ensure fulfilment of test requirements, including compilation and coordination of all audit work files and supporting documentation.
  • Partner with key business stakeholders in championing a strong corporate governance culture in compliance of statutory requirements and company policies.

Create a Winning Team – Continuous Improvement
  • Coordinate the local risk management program on workers compensation and motor vehicle policies as well as assist with the renewal of global insurance policies.
  • Assist with month end reporting and input into annual budget preparation across ANZ
  • Continuous improvement of systems, processes and controls across corporate financial, governance and statutory.
  • Identify capability gap and training for the wider business on GST and FBT to drive accuracy in financial information processing. 
  • Completion of quarterly and annual ABS Surveys.
  • Other ad hoc requests by both internal and external stakeholders
  • Play an active role across finance by proactively sharing knowledge across the team and making a positive contribution.
  • Play a key role in identified local and regional opportunities to streamline our controllership processes across reporting, compliance, audit, governance and increase insight around business decisions to unlock value for the business

Skills and Experience

And because of all the statutory stuff involved, there's a few things that are essential:
  • Tertiary qualified 
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, CA or equivalent) preferred
  • High attention to detail, with exceptional numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written 
  • High level of commercial acumen
  • Ability to articulately converse with all stakeholders; internal / external and financial / non-financial
  • Experience working with SAP and TM1 advantageous
  • Language Skills: Fluent English
