About the role

Responsible for the supervision of our downtown single barrel selection, processing and bulk liquid handling and bottling operations and staff, in alignment with production plan and applicable requirements set by Federal, State, and Local Agencies and Company Policies.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise barrel ordering, manufacturing and product delivery process forall single barrel operation including bottling in a manner that achieves production plan in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner.
  • Manage barrel ordering, production scheduling and shipping based on priority of account submission to ensure product arrives at client on time
  • Accountable for definition and implementation of training and development plans for Single Barrel Processing and Bottling Operators.
  • Provide coaching and direction to Single Barrel Processing and Bottling Operators on key parameters, operating instructions, preparation of equipment for maintenance, process troubleshooting, operating plans, and safety issues.
  • Work with QC to monitor production quality, area sanitation, food safety, and uniform application of GMP requirements.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure the proper operation and maintenance of equipment related to Single Barrel process.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure Preventive Maintenance programs are in place and executed according to plan.
  • Be fully aware of the financial responsibilities and participate in the preparation of the annual budget specific to single barrel operating in partnership with Production managers
  • Develop and implement projects to improve operations performance, including but not limited to production yield, cost reduction, etc.
  • Support Single barrel customer on-site visits with sample preparation, consumer facing and proofing education
  • Work in coordination with brand home to ensure the procurement of barrels for special experiences (BYO) and retail as needed Manage IPC, SCC, NIR communication to Master Data needed for production
  • Ensure consistency of operation, application of policies/procedures, and accountability across all shifts for employees working in the assigned unit.
  • Adhere to requirements under SQS’s management system and Bacardi’s Operating System (BOS) to ensure continual improvement.
  • Reinforce and strengthen the SQS culture at every opportunity in operations and projects. 
  • Promote accident prevention by eliminating potential hazards and serving as a site first responder.
  • Promote correct SQS behaviors through personal example
  • Act upon any health, safety and environmental matter brought to their notice, and report to their Manager on any matter which they are unable to rectify

Skills and Experience

·         Minimum of two years distillery or production/plant (chemical/processing) operation experience (beverage industry preferred).

·         Experience on other beverage sector manufacturing field (e.g. processing, bottling, etc.) is highly desired.

·         Must possess and exhibit strong ability to work cohesively with others to accomplish Company objectives

·         Excellent interpersonal skills to function as a team member, leader and business partner with a strong commitment to team concept

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

·         Excellent presentation skills, in front of different type of audiences (internal/external) is preferred

·         Must possess strong influencing skills

·         Excellent decision making and independent judgement skills

·         Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to multi-task

·         Demonstrated analytical/mathematical skills

·         Must possess strong facilitation, conflict management, and negotiating skills

·         Self-motivated and possess ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

·         Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines

·         Exhibit flexible approach and willingness to work off shifts and weekends to accomplish goals

·         Proficient personal computer and software skills (SAP, Microsoft Office, etc.)

·         Working knowledge in relevant policies/standards such as Bacardi’s Life Saving Rules, PSM (Process Safety Management), OSHA, HACCP, and ISO.

·         Strong commitment to dependability and timeliness

Environmental Conditions:

·         Work is performed in temperature-controlled environment and in a production facility where dust, fumes, heat, cold, noise, and vibration exist; and in outdoors environment where seasonal elements and weather elements can exist
