About the role

Bacardi's Corporate Development team is responsible for supporting the Company’s growth opportunities by evaluating and executing targeted acquisitions, joint ventures, equity investments and other corporate transactions and strategic initiatives, and managing existing portfolio of equity investments.

The Corporate Development Sr. Manager is an integral member of Bacardi's Corporate Development team, and will support the Vice President to achieve the objectives of the group.  This includes having responsibility for certain investment, acquisition and other strategic initiatives, including but not limited to:

  • Lead cross-functional teams in the analysis and execution of transactions
  • Develop the strategic rationale for investment or acquisition decision, requiring detailed economic, market and category analysis
  • Oversee financial modeling and valuation workstreams
  • Direct financial, business, legal and tax due diligence
  • Prepare presentations summarizing findings, conclusions and recommendations to be presented to management and key stakeholders

This role requires expert analytical judgment to assess potential business opportunities and relationships consistent with Global priorities.


  • Work as an integral member of the Corporate Development team to initiate, analyze and execute across multiple strategic initiatives
  • Research and analyze business opportunities and identify potential acquisition targets that are a strategic fit to the organization; assess potential markets, categories and companies, from both a strategic and financial perspective
  • For prospective transactions, lead the strategic assessment, valuation and due diligence; oversee transaction structuring; participate in contract negotiations; and manage interaction with various internal and external constituents
  • Manage and prioritize multiple transactions with cross-functional project teams on all critical aspects of transactions, ranging from initial opportunity evaluation to transaction strategy and execution
  • Provide a broad strategic view and input across multiple projects and initiatives
  • Undertake complex, quantitative analysis, in particular financial modeling, focusing on financial valuation of potential investment and acquisition opportunities
  • Oversee all aspects of financial modeling and valuation work associated with business opportunities and strategic initiatives
  • Manage due diligence processes, including analyzing information received and organizing and managing subject matter experts
  • Able to offer suggestions and challenges where appropriate during team meetings, in and outside of the Corporate Development team, including challenging management assumptions on forecasts
  • Work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to deliver information and analysis on a timely, and efficient basis
  • Prepare clear, insightful presentations to management and all key stakeholders to support the discussion and decision making process 
  • Effectively communicate complex financial and strategic analyses and alternatives to management and key stakeholders

Skills and Experience

  • 5+years combined professional experience with a top-tier investment banking firm, private equity group and/or the M&A group of a large corporation
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field from a leading university with strong academic credentials; MBA preferred; CFA or CPA a plus
  • Ability to analyze complex financial and strategic objectives, accounting or tax issues, and identify alternative solutions or approaches
  • Commercial acumen and experience, with the ability to have a broad strategic view and input across a variety of corporate initiatives
  • Significant experience in valuation and financial analysis and understanding of core valuation concepts
  • Able to produce high quality presentations summarizing key findings, conclusions and recommendations
  • Excellent team working skills - ability to build relationships, engage effectively and earn respect of all stakeholders 
  • Ability to simultaneously manage and prioritize multiple transactions with various project teams on all critical aspects of transactions, ranging from initial opportunity evaluation to transaction strategy and execution
  • Flexibility to cope with the uneven nature of M&A workflow 
  • High level of discretion and integrity with experience of working in a confidential environment
  • Strong work ethic, rigorous approach to tasks and keen attention to details
  • Ability to commit to Bacardi values
The following experiences are preferred:
  • MBA is preferred; CFA or CPA a plus
  • Experience in the Spirits and/or Beverage industry is a distinct advantage and/or a consumer products luxury goods business environment
  • Significant experience with a top-tier investment banking firm, private equity group or similar professional experience is a distinct advantage
  • Additional language skills
