YOUR OPPORTUNITY

As a State Manager you are responsible for articulating Bacardi’s vision and roadmap in your designated state/region through development and execution of market strategy to achieve maximum performance with broker/distributor management and relationship building with strategic accounts. You will lead, guide, and develop a successful sales team to drive results through actionable strategies, plans and programs.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES - WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART YOUR KEY FOCUS WILL BE
  • Develop, implement, and achieve fiscal year sales goals for the IL market focused on tactics and set Action Plans. 
  • Develop, implement, and execute sales programs and pricing strategy.
  • Review monthly account performance, including Revenue and Value Creation.
  • Conduct quarterly and annual planning and review meetings with the distributor SGWS, to actively identify areas of market opportunity and address accordingly.
  • Ongoing distributor management responsibilities including monitoring of KPI’s, price points (including competitive set), orders, shipments, samples, training, and POS management 
  • Supervise and Develop Direct Reports (Brand Activation Managers - 3) & provide guidance and direction to indirect reports (Influencers & Ambassadors - 5) to ensure collaboration to achieve market goals & objectives
  • Partner, collaborate & be the market lead with national brand teams/agencies to build strong relationships & optimize local opportunities 
  • Build and maintain close working relationships with city & community organizations, key accounts, including national accounts, regional chains, and independents.
  • Analyze, report, and forecast market trends/conditions and work with Regional Director as part of long-term planning.
  • Develop and execute distribution and execution standards & with Southern Glazer Wine and Spirits Distributors.
  • Conduct quarterly market analysis surveys/KPI audits in all major markets.
  • Provide weekly/monthly reports and status/accomplishments recap to the Regional Director.
  • Take accountability and full ownership of your region’s P&L and produce effective forecasting to increase profitability and demonstrate a strong understanding of value chain economics.
  • Demonstrate strong financial acumen with an understanding and ownership of the marketplace pricing, structure, and strategy.
  • Analyze and understand the competition. Stay informed on key competitor offerings that may affect volumes as well as staffing changes at distributors and competitors.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate, influence and work effectively across functional groups and departments.

Skills and Experience

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, or related area.
  • Ideally you will have 5+ years field sales experience, preferably in the Spirits and/or Beverage industry.
  • Ideally you will have supervisory/management experience and positive track record of developing winning teams.
  • Ability to create, maintain and build long lasting relationships with key accounts, distributors, vendors & cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated track record of performance and delivery against KPI’s and annual goals & targets
  • With a Founder’s mentality, you demonstrate exceptional financial acumen and decision making to achieve results.
  • You are influential and excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills. You will have opportunities to display excellent written and verbal communication skills while also being relaxed giving presentations in front of small groups of people including executives, distributor partners, Bacardi primos, vendors and customers (both internal and external) at all levels of an organization.
  • You are computer proficient working in MS Office Products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and can use advanced computer functions, including navigating the Internet.
