About the role
Responsibilities
- Performance measurement & Reporting:
- Leading financial reporting activities, including Monthly/Quarterly/Annual closure of books
- Periodic review of working capital, close monitoring of slow-moving stocks and ensure adequacy of Inventory provisions as per policy.
- Leading the periodic reviews for the SUBSA Supply chain team, highlighting key variances vs budget and providing insights into operational spend and areas for cost optimization
- Forecasting and highlighting risks & opportunities across manufacturing & supply chain
- Leading and delivering the budgeting activities for SUBSA local Manufacturing and regional Supply chain operations, to work closely with Supply chain, Commercial & leadership teams
- Supply chain projects:
- Lead evaluation and delivery of Manufacturing/Supply/RTM focused projects across Africa
- Assess Cost of Goods for new innovation projects & business cases
- Identify measures to optimize distribution costs
- Highlight inefficiencies in supply chain processes and work closely with supply chain team on cost saving / value engineering projects.
- Continuous identification of opportunities to improve processes, optimize costs
- Interact closely with all relevant stakeholders across functions to ensure commercial/Finance support for new projects, such as SAP readiness, master data setups and other activities as per project timelines
- Compliance:
- Compliance of all applicable SOX and internal controls & financial policies with respect to Capex, Opex, procurement, physical verification of stocks across all warehouses and other supply chain process controls.
- Ensuring green status in all Statutory or Internal audits.
Skills and Experience
- A proven track record of financial reporting and performance management across manufacturing operations;
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, strong commercial acumen
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – English
- Strong business partnering skills; ability to influence market stakeholders and build trust with key stakeholders
- Experience of working in cross functional environment
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial model building
- Experience working with SAP and BI desirable
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
